You can't release captains quarters as is. The controls are hideous.
1: The camera moves too fast, you need a slower default, and a slider to adjust the sensitivity.
2: You can only move forwards when your holding a mouse button down. This means you don't have full mobility of your character while being able to look around. This just results in a ton of clicking to control the character properly.
3: Theres no side step. Yes yes, we don't want the unrealistic floating side step seen in many games. However you need some, without it you have to be perfectly aimed at what your trying to get to beforehand. Some ability to side step is realistic and makes the controls more useful.
4: When you sit down, the only way you can get back up is right clicking on the couch again, you should just be able to press a movement key and get up.
5: There should be finer grained scaling on the mousewheel instead of just two levels.
6: There needs to be an option not get out of your pod (thus not to load CC). A nice way to do this would be to have the current (tranq) hanger view, and then a button to click on to enter the CC.
7: Lastly there are some performance issues, theres no way this will scale up to very many players as is. This isn't something that needs fixing now (assuming an option to not load it is present) but it's worth mentioning.
I think CC is a good step forward, I think it will accomplish the goals ccp has stated it wants to fulfill with it. I'm just asking you CCP, don't cripple it with bad control's at launch, new players will load it up and spend the first 10 mins fighting with the controls as they watch their avatar try to walk into a wall while their camera is pointed the opposite direction.

Worse than that they will very quickly realise that all the buttons IN CQ open up windows that bury it, that then have to be closed to access more windows because the buttons are now covered by the windows. Then they will realise that they can open all these windows with the old neocom and never bother with CQ again.
Without a decent UI on launch CQ/Incarna will struggle, A lot of this stems from the idiotic decision to remove the old hanger view and foist its functionality on the CQ designers. Splitting CQ and the hanger will not only make us much happier, but will make the designers job a lot easier as well. __________________________________________________

You're wasting your time, CCP doesn't care. Just select the new none option and not have it load.

What? Have they removed WASD? ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

No its still in there but it really need a way to stop if you are using the double click the direction you want to go form of movement.
Right now it gets you to close to the walls with is not natural.

1: There is a slider to adjust the sensitivity.
2: WASD keys still work to move you around. Although it is annoying when you accidentally type wwwwwwww in chat channels
3: Yep, hopefully we get side step at some point.
4: Yep, agreed.
5: Seems fine to me.
6: This would be nice but we already got the option to turn it off to save resources so I doubt they'll let us go between the old and new.
7: Indeed Would love to know what all the extra memory is being used for.

On the older builds, you could use the WASD keys to get up from the sofa. Not sure if thats bugged or they removed it, but it should be added back into the game.
For the performance issues, I guess they are trying to make it look really nice, but that chokes laptops and your normal everyday computers, I don't think they realize that not everyone has a monster gaming computer.
And where are the Amarr, Gallente, and Caldari Captains Quarters? Two weeks sure is cutting it close.

Now that the website is live and with the mass test tonight. I would guess Tommorow or Thursday depending on when they have and a Devblog about them ready.
Unless they are going to make some more E3 announcements and dev blogs about them like the new supper server and more dust 514.

Maybe that was removed but last time I checked (back on Duality) holding a movement key that is "away from couch" caused my character to stand up. ____________________________________ Open your eyes. And Awaken. |

This is indeed a bug. This has since been fixed, you should see this deployed soon on Singularity.
As to mouse speed and sensitivity, this is pulled directly from your desktop mouse speed (Windows or OSX), we do not alter the default. There is a slider in the ESC menu to modify the speed of the camera within the game.

Edited by: Andreus Ixiris on 08/06/2011 13:53:17 CCP, please make Captain's Quarters a place you can reach by clicking a button in station, not the default station view. Everyone is asking for this.
At least restore drag-and-drop functionality for switching ships and double-clicking on a ship to open its cargo bay. ----- Andreus Ixiris CEO, Mixed Metaphor

Well I find it pretty cool but I must agree that it shouldn't be "by default".
I've got some pretty good recent machine that I build my self and despite this one being powerful enough, loading CC when you dock is little slow and somehow makes my PC get near the limit. Tried with low res and no anti-aliasing or every thing on top, the lower resolution being some how faster.
There are a lot of people out there enjoying the game that will not be able to load the CC environment in some reasonable delay or not load it at all maybe, so making the CC loading optional would be some good choice.
My 2 cts contribution. ________________________________________________

Not Everyone is asking but on option to make either default and make CQ the default unless you change it would be nice. I like the CQ.
