In particular, sitting a carrier on an undock, remote boosting a macharial, and one shotting everything that undocks, then stashing the mach inside the carrier, and docking the carrier up (remote boosting has no aggression timer) when things come to kill it. Seems to be getting popular. _______________________________________________ "If you want to taste the ground, feel free to attack." - Kenshin Himura

5 years from now every solo-pvper will have a boosting carrier on standby and nothing of value will have been lost.

Out of curiosity, who induced you to post here after your 30 man blob/dread bomb/capital fleet jumped on that guy quietly camping his station of choice ?

Edited by: Tammarr on 12/06/2011 17:11:04 This tactic is for the elite 99% winrate 1% balls population, any objections against it will be meet with trolling. Disgusting use of shipscooping wherever it is employed, and it is somewhat growing in popularity over the past year. Never used it, been known for years, had carriers for years, if I can dodge all iskloss this simply, where goes the adrenaline.

You can just stop fighting exclusively in the safety of dockranges, and you'll have no more problems with this lame tactic.

Incorrect.
Also, I just want to say that my way of playing with internet spaceships is far more honorable and difficult than your way.

It's been around for ages but yes, it is a bit more popular now. It's an oversight in the aggro mechanics and will probably be changed sooner or later. That said, I'd bet on later given CCP's current priorities. In any case I don't think this is about lukka, never seen him in a mach. he prefers the merlin for greater point whoring I think. Thus far you shall read, but no further; for this is my sig. |

Standings/aggression system is one of the things CCP has said they'd love to amend, but due to the scale of the thing it requires a full team.
Until then, just petition the people doing it for using mechanics to avoid consequences of their actions. Should get CCPs attention.

I haven't heard of anyone but Lukka and Rev Risingdawn doing this yet. 99% of your Heretic Army based problems can be avoided by not using the Ossogur/Amamake gate and Pator Tech School Station. How people fail to grasp this simple concept baffles me, but it sure makes tics happy campers.

This is a nonsensical statement, if it's a game mechanic surely CCP intended it to be used that way, right? For honour, and glory. |

Edited by: Diablo Ex on 15/06/2011 01:58:16 Oh come on now, think out of the box.... If I saw that kind of action, I would be killing me a Carrier for sure. Here's what ya' do about this. Get yourself a cloakie hauler (crane), load it with the biggest MWD you can fit, Use the remaining slots for tank, and the covert cloak. Get a bookmark ahead of time that's 3,000 m from the station, and below the undock point, preferably behind it as well. If you careful you can get between the physical station door and the undock spawn point. When the Carrier spawns, wait for the invulnerability timer to run out, uncloak, and burn like nell towards the Carrier and bump that fat pig off the dock. The Mach will no doubt melt you in a blazing fire, but your job will be done by then. Your buddies can then feast upon the Carrier In Your Honor!
I've also seen this done using cheap Ferox BC's and Improved Cloaks.

You know the thing about stations with really really large docking radius is that they have a really really large docking radius, and the other thing about stations with a really large docking radius is their really large docking radius. Also, really large docking radii are really large.
Additionally, practiced bumping is good...a lot of ships tend to bounce off a carrier though :)...not saying it can't be done, but its not as easy as some people like to make it sound...then you need to pray you get those webs on AFTER the bump...
Once again...not impossible...just impractical... especially when the carrier docks when there are more than 5 people in local :)...
I have a solution, drop 20 MOMs every time the carrier undocks...oh wait that works but its impractical... <.<

They should add a warp disrupter for HICS that prevents any ship from docking up. But here is what stops it from being too overpowered. Make it so it takes like 30 secs to work on its target, so if they attack on a station(takes 1 min to unaggress and dock up) and hic puts the warp disrution generator on them, they are screwed after the disruption gen. has been on for more than 30 secs. See its not too overpowered, and guess what, it stops people from playing the terrible station game that we all hate.
Only people who will object are people with carriers who do this. I do not really have a problem with it, I just ignore it, but it be fun to get those people to leave the station.

You instawarp to your bookmark. Or in case of Lukka Tech station, warp to the freaking planet that is an instawarp from the undock.
If you lose your ship on that station, you are an idiot. Plain and simple.

I've used neutral alts in highsec to bump people away from their Orcas. Oh my god, the tears from that were glorious.

No I do, just a bit rusty, I know a stargate is 1 minute after deaggroing, thought they might of change stations as well, well if its 30 secs then make it so it takes 20-25 secs of the module being on the ship that attempts to deaggro, and when that 20-25 sec is up(20 secs for maxed skill for this module) then the ship can not dock.
Station camping solved with 1 module.
