With the on going war in the northern regions, nullsec n anomalies nerf, I've found many systems being abandoned. Seeing this as an opportunity, I managed to bring into one of these systems my 2 toons. One flies a ratting fitted ship, one flies a blockade runner ship for ammo supply. So far I've been able to chain belts and anomalies with little issues, then move on to the next system if the one I'm in is camped. I'm thinking of training another toon to fly a carrier for the only purpose of a mobile base that provides fitting and repair services. At this time, if I need repair or refit, I hv to travel to nearby npc systems. Anyway, my questions are: is it possible to bring a carrier into a claimed system? Does the carrier provide fitting and repair services? Do I get banned for ninja ratting in someone else space?
Thanks in advance.

You can bring in a carrier as long as the system is not cyno-jammed. It is a valid game mechanic and yes, a carrier can provide fitting service, repairs and supplies. Do note, however, that opening cynos tends to attract attention from the neighborhood ________________________ CCP: Where fixing bugs is a luxury, not an obligation. |

So, if I open a cyno in one system, the residents of adjacent systems will notice? Thanks for ur respond btw.

Residents in the current system will notice.
If you open a covert cyno they will not notice, but carriers cannot use a covert cyno. _______________________ The best thing in EvE is Barrage M. |

As long as the system is not Cyno jammed by the sov holder, you can always jump one in. Doesn't matter if they don't know you or if they are actively at war with you.
Originally by: Pham Lai Does the carrier provide fitting and repair services?
The carrier provides fitting services. It can repair a ship/drone in space if it has the appropriate remote repair module. Short of fitting the module to the carrier and using nanite paste, it cannot repair modules.
I think it may be worth pointing out that the "Repair Services" of a carrier are not in anyway related to Station Repair Services. It consists of the carrier locking up the damaged ship/drone, and activating a remote hull/armor module, which repairs the thing.

Where would you get an idea like that? Of course your won't be banned. You also won't be banned if you go in and start randomly killing people.
Thing is for all of these, the locals are probably going to take notice. If you aren't careful they are going to kill that carrier very very quickly. and further more why do i even need a sig? |

There is a map setting that will show any currently active cynos in the whole of eve (under Statistics > cyno fields). So if someone is on the lookout, they will notice even if not in the system.
I assume you are also aware of the fact that a) the ship opening the cyno will be immobile for 10 minutes? Even logging out will not make the ship disappear before the time is up b) your carrier can be scanned down so you'll probably want to cloak it in a safe spot ________________________ CCP: Where fixing bugs is a luxury, not an obligation. |

They will if they're doing competent scouting in regular sweeps; they'll leave someone in local to watch you once they see your name there, probably in a covops.
However, no one ever lost money betting against an arbitrary Eve corp being competent, so go for it. Don't forget your safe-spots and cloaks and such, and remember that the rule about the odds running in favor of people making stupid errors applies to you to. ---

If he brought a carrier into someone else's system he will most likely suffer multiple ban hammers.
