I for one want them to join the Mini or Gallente FW, mmm easy pvp targets.
I wonder who'd be horde and who'd be alliance? (I'm a former hordie lock, yes I admit it)
I don't know why but Horde seems to fit Mini. Alliance would be more like Amarr and/or Caldari. And nothing fits with gallente.
And there is no shame in playing WoW, but for the new ones EVE would cause quite a shock.

I've found most WoW players have a hard time adapting to Eve and don't stay. I think they just get used to having content fed to them. So there may be an influx perhaps, but they will all complain that quests stink, their guild is no good, their toon isn't leveling fast enough, etc. and quit.

I love how this conversation is such a hot topic in eve...I played wow for a few years and never once herd of EvE or knew anyone who played it...But I've come to the conclusion eve is pretty much the crazy Ex-girlfriend just non-stop bitterness for no apparent reason other than to run her mouth so anyone with ears. What I'm trying to say WoW cares nothing about you anymore or ever has...listen to some alanis morissette, draw a bath, light some candles and let it go its time to move on....

Most WoW players that i know of are leaving Eve just after the trial. However, SOME of them, like me - stay and adapt.
I predict the following to happen in the next months: WoW will lose more subs, Eve will get some new people. Most of them will ***** about how slow the "leveling" is, how sub-par the PvE, how unfair the PvP, etc, etc.
But. Think of it. CCP is not Blizzard. CCP is smaller and tend not to cater to so-called "casuals" (which is a wrong term, btw, they are just bad whiney neverseena***** cucumbers). Blizzard does.
So, the players will have 2 options.
Option 1: Eat/shoot babies, play Eve, join Goons, have the great adrenalie rushes of eve-pvp, blablabla, insert eve promotion here. (Yes i like this game. Very very much.)
Option 2: Look out for a wow-clone. Rift comes to mind. ***** on forums, whine about how "hard the game/just for hardcore no-lifers"; Tirion nerfs the fun out of the game, game dies. Repeat. **** **** Please send me mail if you want to sell big piles of corpses. Must be in mint condition. (space-frozen)

Too many people in Eve that are over 20 are pulled into that game already (people in Qcats...Chatgris...etc). I looked at the YouTube demo, and thought, bleh top-down arcadey style fantasy pvp not for me.

Both games have similarities. (DO NOT KILL ME NOW, let me speak)
Try a drunken fleet op, then try a drunken raid. Same stuff, basically. But, you have to be drunk Irishman-Style and have the right people on voicechat.

I doubt it.
Even if the WoW players feel comfortable inside the station in Jita 4-4 and create their own mini-market of buying and selling shirts and goggles, they will be missing out on the finer things of Eve: war decks, unplanned pvp, blob warfare, mining, being ganked while mining, being ganked while missioning, being robbed by can flippers, being robbed by corp thieves, manipulating the market for minerals and modules, etc.
But of course, that may be too much to ask for from a WoW player since doing all these finer things require months or even years of training skills and having to endure the harsh world of Eve.

Eve is very ... special. It is a very big jump from "lala-land with orcs and elves" to "mega-kapitalism-ruled galaxy of ruthless godlike beings who enjoy shooting each other"
So, either they like it, or not. Just be patient with all the forum whines in the next months...oh wait, what did i just said? I mean, if you see a dumb whine, flame and troll him/her. **** **** Please send me mail if you want to sell big piles of corpses. Must be in mint condition. (space-frozen)

You're wrong!
I have 6 friends that play WoW as if it's both a job and a religion. Gave all of them free passes to come and join me in EVE.
2 of them stayed for a month, mining and salvaging until I dragged them into 0.0 to die.
1 of them ragequit 2 minutes into the tutorial.
The other 3 were not able to get around the fact that there aren't any real avatars and disliked the fact that there were no levels and/or experience.
The ragequit was my favorite reaction.

I am a former wow player, I started in vanilla and played until cataclysm. I made my first eve character in 06. And ever since that time I have always found my way back to eve. Here I am now, dedicated and solid. CCP is moving toward goals and introducing new content. But content and goals they have had for a long time now. I mean a really long... time... Having beta tested almost every major mmo to hit the market and play some of them. Eve takes the cake on expansive world, ease to play, and ability to be casual or wtf every hour of your life.
I'm surprised more of the SWG community didn't end up playing eve

Every MMO (except Dofus) I've tried had some sort of mortal enemy MMO. Hell, even a flash-based RPG with a strong forum culture I frequented would go bat**** crazy the instant RuneScape was mentioned.
GW fellas/forum would also become blood thirsty Beast of Anger when WoW got mentioned, EVE is not exactly the most anti-*insert MMO* I've seen.
EDIT: Oh my God... why in God's name would the alt appear... for ****s sake x.x

Most WoW players are going to ragequit within their first week anyway. "Hey, here's a lowsec system, I'll take my mission battleship out there and try out pvp."

Short attention spans, I beg your pardon? Ever done 4 hour long raids?
WoW players won't flood EVE, GW2 is expected to be released end of the year .. and there's also Rift to keep them busy in the meantime.
4... 4 hour long raids, huh? That passes for impressive in WoW these days? Now I know how parents feel when wide-eyed children breathlessly gasp something adorable like "Ten whole dollars!?"
But I suppose four hours would seem intense to the current WoW player. All the WoW players that were accustomed to eleven-hour Alterac Valley matches and learning 40-man PvE content - which could go for 6-8 hours in the dedicated guilds - already switched to Eve after Activision got its greasy paws on WoW and set everything to 'easy' mode.
And that's just WoW. Eve sports individual skills that take longer than a month to train, and the demands of large-scale PvP, which many veiw as Eves 'endgame', make 4 hour raids look like daily quests. Even if you're going it alone, wait until you lose 10+ hours of labor to a podding, then try and impress us with four hour raids.

Ah....and the big part of that is waiting for the other side to make a mistake. So you can get the advantage. In alot of ways this game has mixtures of Sun-Tzu, Machiavelli, Neitzsche, and psychological aspects together. That's what shows it up among others. Wow is very very lacking on any of that.

Minmatar=Orcs. Former slaves to another race, proud warrior race guys. Ammar=Humans or Night Elves. Big into religion, somewhat bigoted. Quite a lot of territory. Gallente=Peace loving democratic hippies. Gnomes, Tauren or Draenai seem a good fit. Caldari=Super capitalists with megacorps. Durr, goblins.

I understand what your saying but I dont think that last paragraph reflects well on EVE despite your intentions to make it so.
