I'm currently in a harbinger comfortably doing level 2's and have almost got the rep to do level 3's. Can anyone point me towards a website or a post that gives advice on what types of ship and fits best suit the respective mission types and levels? I don't want to warp into my first level three mission and get insta popped
Thanks

By inference: http://eve-survival.org/ It may not tell you exactly how to fit your ship, but it tells you what to expect.

Edited by: Forum Alting on 30/05/2011 14:34:37 Battleclinic has a loadouts section which has hundreds of fits for nearly every ship in the game. They will almost certainly have a setup for a level 3 harbinger. Just take what you read with a pinch of salt. As the fits are suggested by the community and there's no moderation n anything other than 'troll' fits (on that note the members of Battleclinic REALLY don't tolerate poor ship fitting) a lot of what you see might not work in-game. The alternative is posting a request or just searching in the ships and modules section of the eve forums. You can either ask for a cookie-cutter setup or suggest what you're running with currently and ask for suggestions and you'll often get a good response and a boatload more advice for future fitting atempts. Again, think before you blindly accept what's posted but the advice and suggestions there generally tend to be more sound and useful than Battleclinic.
As for the actual missions; as other people have already said, eve-surivival has details on most missions and will let you know what you're jumping into before you even accept the mission. It also works with the in-game browser.
P.s. With the recent update there's only 3 mission types: Courier, mining and security. Courier can be done in better suited ships (look at the industrials), you can setup a BC to mine but if you really want to do the mining missions then I would suggest a mining barge, and security is your combat missions. Most Harbinger fits should handle all lvl 3 security missions with no more than a hardener change for specific tanking so pick one you like and you should only ever need that one fit.

Edited by: Thaddeus Brutor on 31/05/2011 10:51:50 Good advice to look at BattleClinic for inspiration, but just remember that MOST of the fits there are from EFT warriors that have never actually *tried* the fits out.
I once posted a C5 wormhole fleet Abaddon and stated at the beginning of the description that a remote LAR & energy transfer were MANDATORY to join the fleet. The first seven posts told me to drop the RLAR & LETA. The next three posts said to use pulses instead of tachs. It was apparent they had never done a C5 anomaly.
That aside, I still use BattleClinic for some inspiration when fitting new ships.
