Is there a game play change that would explain the current 5 month low price on robotics ? I can't seem to find a reason searching myself

No, It's just all the people that jumped onto the Robotics production train 5 months ago are now undercuting each other.

I think the patch in Feb made it easier to harvest PI resources. Or made it more appealing to players, I don't know. Either way, all PI goods prices are falling pretty fast. I have no idea when they will bottom out but it's not looking good right now :(.

Pos fuel going down = more people onlining poses = POS prices go up
QUICK, STOCK UP ON POSes!

Edited by: ORLICZ on 11/05/2011 10:02:03 PI was a ****, but people stll neet to keep pose so tehey trained many alts to do own pos fulel, demand droped. In the same time people ewithout pose start producing pos fuel as it was quite easy for sale. NOw a lot of people resigned from poses (war, lowered prices of moon goo) but they stil procucing poses fuel ;]
JUst change your pi to other products :P. sorry for ****y english

Recently I found I was short of Robotics by about 2100 units for my 5 years worth of PI POS Fuel reserve, I think I was over zellas when selling my excess inventory. So I changed up 2 Planets, one for Mechanical Parts the other for Consumer Electronics. Each planet spit out 10 units an hour, and have been for the last week.
Why do I bring this up? Well to put it bluntly, that 500+ Robotics a week. While I still have to bring the two together if I turned a 3rd planet into a production facility which consumed those two to make Robotics I would have a continues supply of Mechanical Parts and Consumer Electronics to feed the Robotics factory.
At 500 Robotics a week, at 50,000 ISK a Robotics that equals 100mil a month. I'm not going to sell them but simply store them in my fuel reserve, however I can believe that some people could possible have 2 or 3 groups per character. Basically If you trained 3 Characters to max PI, you could have pump out 4,500 Robotics a week which would be 900mil ISK a month. And I touch my planets once ever 2-3 days for about 2-3 minutes per planet..
If you think PI was cheap now... wait awhile people will realize they can pump out a PLEX or two a month with next to zero effort and 1% cost to profit ratio. PI is on it's way DOWN, it ant going to keep climbing, if you waited to sell you stock you're too late.
The only saving grace you have is eventually Robotics will not be the almost 1B Profit a month industry so people will leave and move onto another PI which will shorten supply and rise the price. But never forget that as one PI price climbs because no one is making it, it's doomed to crash as people shift production.
It costs about 5mil to setup a new planet.. PIDDLY WINKS compared to just one full week of production of Robotics, each binary planet setup to produce Robotics generates about 3.5mil a day revenue. You think people will not move from PI to PI as prices change.. LOL Think again.
--------------------------------- PI Recommendation for the future, buy PI items that are cheap and almost under priced, the bulk of players are not producing items with next to zero profit, wait for it to slowly rise, and the first sign of increased volume of availability on the market, DUMP your Inventory.

Wrong. Robotics tanked because well over a million units got dumped on buy orders from a couple people with huge npc seeded stashes. You talk a lot about supply but ignore demand. Have any idea how many robotics are needed daily to fuel currently operating pos?
Just like real world oil, let something disrupt the supply of fuel components and see what happens.
Stop ignoring demand when you talk about markets. I know you want to lock in long term fuel prices but mercy, you can't just phone your manip posts in!

Before PI went live about a year ago, people bought up massive quantities of several products, such as robotics, coolant, guidance systems and rocket fuel (I'm sure I missed a few) at rock bottom NPC prices.
They've been holding onto these stockpiles for either production use, cheaper operating expenses for POS's, or, in the case of this robotics dip, apparently, to dump on the market after they feel price has risen high enough.
PI products are no longer seeded by NPCs though.
