Hello....some of the older players might remember me, back in the day along with the likes of Vogon I was widely regarded as one of the games greatest ore thieves. I even wrote the guide, parts of which are still kicking around out there somewhere today. I've made 99% of my ISK by stealing other people's ore (and I have a considerable amount of isk) and i'm proud of the fact that i'm not a throwaway alt and I don't hide behind excuses for what I do.....I'm a thief, and it's not nice, but there you go.
Anyway, aside from bigging myself up what's this got to do with anything? Well I've noticed that the miners out there, who always whined that they weren't able to shoot me, simply aren't man enough to hit the button anyway. I'd say 80% of you just do what you always did, sit and whine. The remaining 20% I applaud for having the nuts to back it up.
My conclusion now, given the criminal flagging system and a level field, is that Ore theft is a bold proffession and as I suspected all along, even given a free hand to shoot, carebear whiney miners remain just that....whiney. You've got Exhumers with massive holds, you've got Giant secure cans, you've got criminal flagging, yet still you jet mine into standard cans in 1.0 and cry a river when you lose it....It's pathetic.
I challenge you....in fact i DARE you, to try to take me down when I steal your stuff and I invite my fellow can flippers to join me in a crusade to make lazy carebears defend themselves or lose. My public channel, TOOKURSTUFF, remains open for all like minded thieves. Hell, I'm so bored with whining miners I might even form a corp and shoot you all myself.
See? Now you've all made me angry.

Funny. You don't look that angry.
One thing I've never bothered with myself. Must put it on the list.

This has been done to death, I dunno how long you have been gone for but I suggest you look at Suddenly Ninjas. The reason you have many miners reluctant to shoot is because can flippers today care less about the ore and more about the shooting rights.

Well, it depends on the miner. I steal tons of ore, and even less than 20% shoot back, but I no longer care if they shoot or not. I just find it funny to take their stuff. Its better when they do shoot, but I like it fine when they don't. The absolute best is grabbing an indy and then scooping GSCs in .8-1.0 systems where you can't anchor them but miners still use them.

Best fight of my life was way back when my pirate had 2m sp and I got my rifter into a fight with a mining Moa... had to call my >1m sp friend's incursus to inch my DPS just above the Moa's tank. Fight lasted 15 minutes and much smack was had (friend had to warp out 4x )
I miss those days

i started a miner char up and sat him in a retriever sucking up plag and ice for his indy corp of toothless industrialist mission runners PLONK that sound was forehead on keyboard from sleepiness. Thing is, the ore thieving idiot char with 110k sp and a wreathe was making more money stealing jetcans. AND having more fun. Highlights include evading a jaguar in a 2 gate one station system, drama local:"You've picked a dark path, we take care of each other in Aeddin" LOL, giving cool ppl back their ore. Saddest moment was the hisec miner who just sat there while i ferried his ore back to station for THREE HOURS, making sure never to empty the can. Tragic, boring, russian name, you get the picture.
tl;dr for livestock: you sir seem to be inventing a 'wheel' of some kind there.

As much as i like my corp management days with capital ships and fleets there is a small part of me that misses clueless hisec pvp and the rush of it!

ill refine the ore and make a contract to them requesting 100 Pax Amarria, and request they keep one for themselfs.

I still manage to find some who will shoot, but yeah, miners are getting more careful these days.
There's less need to jetcan than there used to be, to.
I still get some ore, and some fights ... my blog at Ironfleet.com has a few tales. ------------------ Ironfleet.com |

Basically this. Most miners are told that it's not worth losing one's ship to fight for a little bit of ore. Your best bet is to cut your losses and move on. What usually happens if you fight back is the experienced pvper with stacks of combat skills and combat experience docks their seemingly harmless frigate and comes back out with something much more threatening. Same thing goes for mission loot theft. The goal isn't the loot, the goal is to get the victim to flag themselves and/or supply tears. ___

Ore theft is one of those professions thart was at it's best when, you could lay down a can and have the macro miner just keep on filling your can up and when the macro hauler came in it'd take from your can and pop goes the iteron. Ahhh those were the days. |

Better still, a blockade runner, line up a celestial on the other side of a can, approach while cloaked at 2.4km scoop (no uncloaking), warp out, no idea who emptied it except local, move to next system, rinse repeat

I used to jet can mine in an Osprey just to kill thives and flippers (with the Osprey). Good times, except for the horrid mining.
I never get why miners are such sorry excuses for pilotes tho. Flip a 30 man corp with 10 guys in the mining gang? Nobody does anything. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tenaj and Vogon were famous ore thieves in the very early days of Eve. They were described as the mother and father of ore theft.
If anything Vogon was the more famous and stole ore with a style few other ore thieves could manage, Tenaj was a close second though

I went back into the red again because no miners will aggro the rifter with the '06 pilot .
Even tried a slasher, no go
