Hi guys, not sure if anyones interested in the egosoft X series here but TNBT is finally announced. Nice video, lot's of questions about gameplay but hopefully as good as what has come before (personal opinion, I love the games but some hate them heh).

Both communities have a lot in common, a lot people on the Egosoft-Board played both the X-Series and EVE.

I dont know if more xbtf/2/3/tc is what is needed here
Egosoft mentioned a while back they were seriously thinking about a new IP.. I dunno if this is what they were going for, but basically the same engine running just a slightly different universe?

Most german game development studios are in a very sad financial state, often having only barely the funds to develop the next game. I doubt Egosoft, with their niche-game are that different and cost wise developing another game in a series where are company can re-use a lot of code from previous games is much cheaper.
There is also the problem that computer games in general have a very poor image in the german public and that makes it difficult to find investors. Banks are extremely conservative when it comes to giving a credit to a person or a company within germany, they prefer to waste money in other countries.
