EVEN IDEALISTS HAVE TO DO ADMINISTRATION SOMETIMES
I have always disliked administrative tasks, but they have to be done from time to time. The pleasant surprise about tonight, was that this admin task was actually quite fulfilling. I sent out eight notices to the owners of clone remains that the Disciples have picked up in recent days. We are offering to drop off and contract to the owners at any High Sec station of their choice, all at our own expense.
Grief is a fundamental human experience and it is one of the tender threads that holds the capsuleer in kinship with his full human brothers and sisters. To look upon your own body and remember experiences that were integrated in that body is a key experience of wholeness for the the ever-disintegrating metaphysic of the capsuleer.
I only hope we will have some takers.
A DISAPPOINTMENT
Usually, when I check in to an evening's work, I scan the local com to see who is around. Tonight, the minute I was in system, I received a com from my brother in a distant part of the galaxy. We spoke for a good half hour before I even checked the local com. When I did, I saw no familiar names. My heart sank. I still feel a bit melancholic. But that is human, afterall.
Future subjects: Infomorph, Capsuleer, Clone. These three terms mean different things and they are all integrated in some way. I will be tossing them up into the philosophical atmosphere to see where they land in days ahead.
The Disciples of Ston say, if you feel sad when you miss your friends, be glad that you have friends.
Peace and Rest to you.

BEGINNING TO FORMULATE DEFINITIONS
An infomorph is a person who_________________ A Capsuleer is a person who __________________ An animated clone is a person who______________
I begin with essential personhood or sentience. This immediately introduces problems in formulating defintion #1. Strictly speaking, a true, pure, technically accurate infomorph only exists as an entity separate from the corporeal body. What is the personal identity of an infomorph? Is an infomorph conscious? If so, is the infomorph self-conscious? I have yet to meet any Capsuleer that can articulate his or her consciousness while in the intermediate state between corporealizations. It seems that our evolution, as of yet, has not allowed us a self actualization outside of the strict tie of memory engrams to the neuro-chemical nest of the brain and body. Even the most ephemeral capsuleer still expresses existence with words and concepts completely tied into the biofeedback loop.
So, let no discussion range in speculation beyond those verifiable observations? No, I doubt we can restrain the inquisitiveness of speculation. The mystery remains that is best exposed by the question, "Is a strict infomorph a person?"
The Disciples of Ston bid you peace?

Dear Unit, Thanks for the tip. I am familiar enough with Todo Kirkinen to understand that much of the information about his life and research is apocryphal. What I am seeking now is contemporary corroboration of such phenomena. This, I have not been able to find. Zainou biotech currently is not generating lab research that focusses specifically on infomorph consciousness. Ston

ANIMATED CLONE
When the infomorph animates the clone body outside of the confines of the capsule, this is the closest kinship to humanity that we experience for the most part. Infomorph animated clones apart from the protection of the capsule and in particular, detached from the cranial scanner and engram transmitter...; the corporealized infomorph is vulnerable. He or she can be killed in the very traditional human sense of the word.
Here we are also exposed the the great experiences of humanity. Here our violence, if we choose to exercise it, is much more visceral than in the pod. Here we eat and taste. Here we speak by actually forcing atmosphere through our throats and over our tongues. Here, we use our functional body parts for various purposes as do all humans. True biofeedback is experienced here. Here our mental and spiritual states are physically integrated.
Both Manwe and I have discovered that the clone who spends too much time in the egg, is reduced to talking much about sexuality likely because they do little of the same. Only the animated clone can use the genitals and related body parts for their great design. The capsuleer talks, the animated clone is able to do.
To maintain kinship with our humanity, we must risk leaving the egg.
WHY I VISIT JITA
I payed a quick visit to Jita tonight after a time of working in Piekura. Why? On the off chance of picking up a clone corpse; and I did. I contacted the owner and then took it back to Korama for storage.
Remind me to reflect on how some Achura are losing their identity the longer they live as capsuleers. I found evidence of this tonight in Piekura.Time for a cool glass of water and then rest.

SEE YOU IN A FEW DAYS
I am going planet side, out of pod and away from technology for a few days. I will not be keeping a log of that time here. I will resume my activities in Piekura four or five days hence if I am not killed while away from the egg.

BRIGHT AND BUBBLY
"Captain Sunnymuffins" How do you like that for the name a pilot would choose for his alias? Now guess his security status... Give up? Minus 10. Yep. Now we Disciples find this to be an interesting pattern throughout the universe. Bright and bubbly names paired with extraordinary violence.
I returned from my planetside travals and was feeling very tired, so instead of working in Piekura tonight, I decided to take one quick run into Jita and see if I could pick up a corpse for our body return service. Whose body to do I stumble into? Captain Sunnymuffins.
We do not discriminate who we serve in this capacity, so, in spite of the minus ten status, we are happy to return Mr. Muffin's body to him at our expense. I wonder who killed him...
The Disciples of Ston bid you peaceful rest.

HUMAN ERROR AND THE FRAILTY OF COMMUNICATION
I was sleepy tonight. Combine that with an attempt to do a little Disciple work including using the local com channel...and...miscommunication. Tiredness always reduces my accuracy in communicating.
Example: Intended statement: "I have been killed and pod killed many times; I know the risks." What I actually wrote: "I have killed and pod killed many times; I know the risks." One word missing and the opposite of my intention is communicated. O to err is human. The Disciples of Ston bid you peace.

WOULD YOU CONSIDER RETURNING TO SIMPLE MORTALITY?
More on that question in a moment, but first...
All current definitions of consciousness are bracketed in philosophical categories that include biofeedback language and concepts. Those who would put forth a claim that the disembodied infomorph is conscious are caught in a philosophical and language conundrum. This is not an issue if you accept consciousness as an integrated product of mind and body. Once the two are separate, well?
Now to the question. Most of our cultures have developed ways to embrace mortality. It is the unique property of the capsuleer to draw the fear of death to its logical conclusion; hence the existence of the mind/personality/brain engram with potentially countless embodiments.
Religion claims that there is a reality beyond death. Many capsuleers claim to hold to these beliefs, but I don't believe that the capsuleer is being entirely genuine in this regard. Where are the capsuleers who have placed themselves back in the realm of the simple mortal? Where are those who have forsaken the "next body" and settled that the current body be the last? If there are any, none have come forward to declare their "faith" that I am aware.
These are observations, not judgments. The Disciples only wish to help you understand yourself and live honestly.
The Disciples of Ston bid you pleasant thoughts and dreams.

ANY BODY WILL DO
Perhaps the closest indication that the infomorph is slowly becoming estranged from humanity is the cavalier attitude that capsuleers have toward their bodies. While preserving the strong human characteristic of vanity in the grooming of face, body, and clothing, the attitude toward the loss of body is astoundingly ho hum. As long as another clone body is available, that's all that matters. We have seen this in the singular lack of interest that pilots have in providing proper rites after being pod killed.
Clone bodies, while similar, are not identical. Cloning is misunderstood in that regard. The integration of mind with body immediately changes both the body and the mind. Thought generates chemical changes in the brain that impact the entire biochemical structure of the body. These changes in turn, impact the mind. The mental patterns upon entering a clone body are immediately changes and continue changing as long as that incarnation exists.
ALARMING TRUTH
When you are pod killed and enter a new body, you are not the same person. No, indeed... because the mind/body combination is different and will develop differently than it would have in the previous body. Upon entering a different bio-chemical vessel, the mental patterns will immediately reintegrate differently in the new body.
Without making too great a value judgment at this time, I would venture to say that I think it is a diminishing of the self to hurry past our losses without acknowledgment, without proper grief. This is a loss of something essentially human. Some may say, good riddens. I say that we are perhaps losing the core of our moral and ethical framework.
The Disciples of Ston bid you, "Be Cautious!"

Brother Ston, I sincerely hope that your speculations are not true. If they are, I may be in a bit of trouble. You do need to address the issues of memory and continuity of social experience as evidence that the integrity of consciousness is, at the very least, mostly intact after pod death and re-integration. Not to discourage your speculative venture, and you raise important points, but self-consciousness seems to be a durative function for the capsuleer across many incarnations.

This log entry will appear in both Manwe Todako's log and Ston Momaki's log and is part of a joint research effort.
While in New Eden, I began to discover an odd phenomenon related to what happens to perception in very close proximity to the system sun. I contacted Ston to have him confirm the data back in Piekura where there are multiple orbital plains and where navigation is a bit easier.
A standard warp drive will place you within a few hundred thousand km of a stellar object. However, one can quickly reach the center of a stellar object by bookmarking coordinates and then bookmarking as you pass through the stellar center.
We fully expected that the warp drive distance limitation was a designed safety feature and to get closer, would result in ship destruction and pod destruction. However, we had heard of strange experiences occurring as pilots approached suns ever closer. We wanted to test it. I used the New Eden sun and Ston used the Piekura sun. We were both able to make observations within the sun corona without damage to our ships.
How is this possible? Were we experiencing visual anomalies due to heat and gravity? We would like to have some other pilots help us with this project and report their findings here. We have coordinates that we are willing to share for both the New Eden sun and the Piekura sun which should place any pilot within the corona. Contact Manwe Todako for coordinates in New Eden and Ston Momaki for Piekura.
If anyone has a reasonable explanation for what seems impossible, please share it.
This is submitted on this thread by Ston Momaki's request.

Dear Pilot physicists, I will attempt, with my limited technical ability to provide access to two camera drone images. If successful, this is what you will see: Image 1 is from inside the Piekura sun and seems to suggest what Manwe called a persistent warp bubble inside the sun surrounding the ship. The second image is what is disturbing and begs explanation. Image two is a camera drone from outside the sun while I was inside the sun. I was shocked. It appears as if the sun core and the corona are separate. If you look closely, you will see the box representing my ship is very close to the core. Could a warp field do this? Also, when the ship is moving, the corona image jumps erratically. Image one Image two
The Disciples of Ston concern themselves with all that concerns the capsuleer. This begs explanation. Anyone who has ideas, we want to know them. The Disciples of Ston bid you peace.

PRELIMINARY THOUGHTS
1. The mass of a star already warps space around it and within it. 2. The warp field of a ship is directional and interacts with the sun in "maybe" "predictable" ways. 3. A camera drone's images are transmitted and interpreted by the computer of the capsuleer vessel whose warp field is interacting with the warp generated by the sun. (The image above is one of several that were taken by multiple camera drones orbiting the sun. The corona and stellar core were always separate) 4. There needs to be more study. What would happen to an infomorph if it were to leave the capsule while in the stellar core?
The Disciples of Ston bid you the adventure of a mystery.

JOINT STATEMENT OF THE DISCIPLES OF STON
Extraordinary! This is the best word to describe what has happened this morning. First, thanks to Manwe for getting us started on this research. Second, thanks to Edaine for taking time and expense to assist us to the concluding event of today. Edaine took a specially equipped Minmatar frigate with a sustained speed of 3131 M/S and traveled from the coordinates I provided straight on into the stellar core. Upon reaching the core, there was a massive release of energy that accelerated his ship almost instantly to well over 300,000,000 M/S to a distance out to 900,000 from the stellar mass. The camera drone image below shows the quickest reaction Edaine could muster as his ship was blown away from the stellar mass. The velocity reading at that point was 325,748,224 M/S. Wow! You will need to load the image and view the larger shot to see the velocity meter number.
hitting the stellar core
We feel that this is an experience to share with all capsuleers and not keep secret. We want to provide the last bookmark recorded before hitting the core. From this waypoint one can fly towards the core. Do this manually. If you try to use the "approach" setting on your Nav it will show error. Instead choose a point right next to the stellar core and head to it. Depending on the speed of your ship, in a short time you will hit the core and be impacted by an enormous release of energy. This is nothing like warping. The acceleration ought to kill you, but it doesn't. It ought to destroy your ship, but it doesn't.
Because we are relative new at space exploration as capsuleers,we are not sure of the most efficient way to get this stellar waypoint out to the community of pilots who may want to test this experience for themselves. Any ideas? We used the Piekura star. Anyone who wants the coordinate can contact us and we will get it to you somehow.

TIME TO REWRITE THE MANUAL?
The Disciples of Ston my be evolving into something different. Sorry, I correct myself; of course we are evolving into something different. To refuse such change is to stagnate and die. Our values still revolve around the capsuleer and her kinship with humanity. How do we help to nurture this? I still find our original methods effective, but there are also new pursuits. If the infomorph is becoming its own consciousness, how do we help it to be a "good" consciousness as opposed to "evil." Moral philosophy is messy at any turn and few want to walk in the mud of it. The Disciples chose to walk that muddy path whether through science or the gentle provocation of petty theft and its accompaniment of conversation.
I will be taking up the task of revising our manual. Hmm, time to grieve ideas that need to go perhaps while affirming others.
Time for a cool glass of water.

Corporate news:
The Disciples of Ston are in sufficient financial shape to provide for Manwe Todako's training in several skills necessary to pilot the research vessel I have donated to the Disciples. All the Disciples (3) are welcome to train and take turns using the ship or perhaps buy and equip another. I am glad of the new direction. O yes, the trip to the core was exciting to say the least.

DISTILLING METHODS FROM VALUES
Our training manual dictates the methods used by the Disciples of Ston. These methods reflect how I chose to begin this journey and reflect it here on these pages. But we are changing. Are our basic values changing? I do not believe so. We share a concern that the capsuleer come to self-knowledge and an embracing of basic goodness. We are non-violent; that must rule our method(s). Must we use petty theft? No. May we use it? Yes. What concerns the peace and well being of humanity continues to concern us. However, we are finding different methods and more refined methods.
As I begin to revise our training manual, method must become flexible and individually defined by our values. This will take time.
We have a vision and desire to bring a non-violent presence to very violent places in New Eden. We cannot do this only through our current methods. We have imprisoned our vision with restricted method. I take most of the responsibility for this. Now the humbling work of taking apart my own work, begins. Revise, revise, revise!
The Disciples of Ston bid you a humble, Good Night!

I did some revision work on the manual tonight, but was very unsure of the revision. I think it is going to have to be a work in progress. I need to get out and do some STON work in Piekura soon. I have noted a lot of pilots that are not known to me. Maybe some opportunity there. There is still greed, violence, and the human disconnect to confront out there. Time to get back to it.

DISCIPLE MANWE TO BE EXTENSIVELY TRAINED
We have come to realize that if we are to expand our message of peace and non-violence to the outer reaches of the galaxy, we need disciples that are trained with the necessary skills to do the work. If you have followed this log from the beginning, you know that this is a major change in philosophy and method. There are two areas that we would like to commission Manwe to work on. 1. a presence in low sec, null sec, and sub null space. 2. An ability to persist in those areas without being repeatedly pod killed. 3. An ability to expand our clone body return service to more possible clientele through access to lower security space. Al of this needs to be done without violence. Skill in preservation will be the focus.
To do this, we are going to be training Manwe for an extended period of time to operate the necessary equipment and vessels to remain alive in these areas of space. Edaine has always said that he may give up the reigns of control in the Corporation. I need to be prepared to assume his roles at the time he chooses to depart unto other priorities. Korama and Piekura and Jita will remain my areas of focus for the time being.
Peace to all from the Disciples of Ston

YOU ARE NOT A TRAITOROUS RECTAL OPENING
By "you" am referring to humanity and capsuleer humanity as a whole. Though some may act that way and even self identify the same, the Disciples of Ston are hopeful for better in you.
Tonight was interesting work. In my interactions I was destroyed once. But, something good happened. The discussion opened up to the distrust that capsuleers feel toward one another. I posed the question, "Why is there such distrust, that capsuleers refuse to accept a simple gift. One response was that "people" are "traitorous" "rectal openings" (different word, of course). This was followed by the question, "what is the gift?" What a perfect question to ask. This question brings out the simplicity of human curiosity and the thirst for knowledge and experience.
A trip to the stellar core. One pilot accepted the gift in spite of warnings that it was a trap. There was no ISK value, no killing, no typical gain, just a different experience. One of the most difficult tasks in this universe is getting people to accept simple gifts of experience freely shared with no strings attached. Tonight, that happened and I am grateful for it.
Sorry, Manwe, no scientific explanations were exchanged either.
The Disciples of Ston bid you peace.

A MERE HUMAN I KNOW WHO LIVES ON A PLANET
I recently visited a friend planet side. He lives a simple human life with his family. He is not a violent man, but he kills. Each year, he supplies meat for his family by hunting a native mammal. This herbivore is in plentiful supply and the government of the planet encourages and licenses its citizens to hunt and to manage the health of the herd. My friend used to take many more animals than he does now. When he began, he was inefficient at the hunt and unpracticed at butchering and preserving the meat. It used to bother him when there was waste and when he killed more than he knew he should have to to feed his family. Now he he takes fewer animals and still supplies the needs of his family. The government is asking the citizens to take more animals, because of an overpopulation problem. This has my friend concerned. Should he kill more to help save more? There is a disease that strikes this species when populations crowd the habitat. Should I kill more to save more? He asks. My friend is not a violent man, but he kills.
I have another friend who used to seek out and kill pirates even though he was not a military man. He told himself that they deserved to die, that they were a menace. Sometimes he would seek out their places even when there was nothing to mine just to kill them. We became friends, we talked about death, killing, and if the capsuleer values life. I told him about my mere human friend on the planet who hunted meat, loved the animals he killed and respected their nature. My friend wept. My friend changed. He started treating his crew differently. He stopped killing just because he could. He still kills pirates, but only now when the safety of his crew is threatened. A member of his crew recently told me that he weeps whenever his drones destroy a pirate vessel. "It is regrettable" he says, "It is regrettable."

SELF CONTROL OR SELF DESTRUCTION
Before I begin, I save you the trouble of accusing me by openly admitting that I am going to get preachy. There.
Many capsuleers are on a road to self destruction...or shall i say a gradual diminishing of mind through chemical abuse. I saw such a pilot this evening. Her mental engrams were so disoriented as to make communication rather difficult. The widespread use and overuse of drugs by capsuleers is not a logical course for self preservation.
When an infomorph enters a new neuro-biosphere (clone brain) the mental engrams of memory, experience, emotion, etc. take residence in the organized biomass of neurons in the clone brain. To destroy these neurons en mass inevitably diminishes the quantity and quality of what will be passed on to the next clone brain.
Don't assume you can abuse the body/brain you have because you can just get another. Your mentality that is integrated with that physical brain is harmed too. In other words, don't be so stupid, unless of course it is too late and stupid is all that is left of you.
The Disciples of Ston bid you the wisdom of restraint.

Dear Pilot, Greetings from the Disciples of Ston. Part of our mission is to provide a service to capsuleer pilots who have been pod killed. If we happen upon a clone corpse, we keep it preserved until we can find the owner and return it to him or her.
I am contacting you, because we have a corpse that belongs to you. Our service is free of charge. Here is how it works. Give us the location of a high Sec station of your choice. We will bring the corpse to that station and contract it to you free of charge. We will cover all expenses.
We believe that by returning dignity to death and giving pilots an opportunity to exercise appropriate rites, we will help capsuleers reconnect with their humanity. Just reply to this message and we will get the process going. The Disciples of Ston bid you peace.
