Gibbo5771	Posted - 2011.04.06 17:46:00 - [1] Out of curiosity and a bit of rage. Is this 770mb patch an ADDITIONAL amount or does it overwrite some old files and stuff? I have a specific 10gb partion on my HDD for eve (long story how this happened) but really? 700mb for tattoos and scars?..... When I started playing eve in 2008 it was 4.5gb, after this patch it will be 8gb, if CCP keeping adding **** this is going to be out of control in another 3 years time, 12, 14, 20gb who knows, it just seems like its getting overkill.

Down the line, we'll be getting even more textures, models, animations, sound effects, voiceovers, and yes, a lot of it will be completely brand-new and not just building on top of or replacing what's already there. I suspect you will have to move EVE out of that partition down the line. The game is guaranteed to hit the 10GB mark after the release of Incarna (entirely new environments, new clothing and customization options, new turret and nebulae graphics, new voiceovers for Aura, etc).

Btw you can repartition hd on the fly without losing any data by using for example PowerQuest PartitionMagic 8.0 or similiar software... if that becomes real problem. ------------------------------------------------- Play with the best - die like the rest starwreck.com - support the cause :)

In fact, downloading at 8kb/s here and that's 14+ hours if it doesn't get disconnected in between. And for what, tatoos....

Boohoo... do you really expect CCP you plan their patchs to be easy to download with you slow ass ip over carrier pigeon internet?, took me 20-30min to download the patch, get some adsl and quit the whining.

I'm fairly sure I remember reading a few people cry about CCP bribing us with the SP reimbursement at that one time a patching overshot it's estimated time hard.

No so much a complaint, I have x2 320gb HDD's, a 74GB raptor and a 2tb external :p. Its just the inconveniance of this for a lousy cosmetic patch, I want better spaceship game play not the sims online. All in all its just kind of gay and annoying for something most of the eve community does not even want, if CCP's crap forums allowed polls I could prove this.
