This thread is making a strong case for the removal of jump bridges since he can't even tell the difference between jump bridges and stargates.
And yes, I'm assuming stuff and drawing conclusions without :stuff:.

I support the removal of stargates. With warp drive speeds it would only take a day or two to get from system to system. If it's good enough for Captain Picard of the USS Enterprise it's good enough for me.

On a serious note, it would make sense to make it so that you enter system through a stargate and appear in random spot in that system. Kinda like we have stargate(system1)-stargate(system2), it should be stargate(system1)-random spot(system2).

You should try reading the part where they explain why they want to remove them and all the other things they'd like to see.

Yes troll I know the difference, and I'm not talking about JB's.

Your first mistake. Try actually reading the forums before responding to mine.

That's true for everything in the game. In fact, it's true of the game itself. -

It's Prima Donna, Italian for "first lady," usually the female star of an opera.
But really people who want to get rid of stargates are people who suck at running gatecamps. That's it. Carebears who suck at EVE but want to compete against people who don't suck at EVE.

They are trolls. They have substituted the word stargate for jump bridge, or are implying that jump bridge removal is as absurd as stargate removal.

Wait, are you implying that people who camp gates don't suck at EvE? I'll even take your implication further, by asking this. People who camp gates are, what, good at EvE or PVP. That's a pretty special point of view.

That one guy that posts a lot in the EvE GD always mentions adding in personal jump drives to every ship. I imagine this kind of relates to what the OP is talking about.
I don't think we need to get rid of Stargates, but having Personal Jump Drives that let us jump to close by systems without getting caught in gatecamps and stuff would be pretty nice.
Also, what the other poster said, Stargate 1 to Random spot in Stargate 2's system would also be nice and make more sense. --- The ≡v≡ Online Forums: where all the kiddies go to whine.

Or people like space games because space is vast and empty and gates, and specifically gate camps, completely take away from that experience. If I want choke point fights ill play Call of Duty.

Try to follow my train of thought here please.
TL;DR - reduce traveltimes in empire (if you want to go save) to make it feel big again - encourage trade at more places - remove spawn-point camping from game, support hunting - blur high/low sec border - make small gang pvp viable (reduce chance of hotdrops) - put caps back to where they belong - on the battelfield for sov - make the lone hunter/pirate a viable playstyle again - make nap-trains hard to maintain - create breeding grounds for small alliances - make eve feel like huge ****ing empty space instead 'rooms with doors'
Get rid of Rooms with Doors - Shortrange Jumpdrives for everybody! |
