*Somewhere in Pator...*
Im not one for many words but after serving the Amarran Empire for so many years and battling the Terrorists i was granted an audience of late with a High ranking Sarum official regarding my fathers past. Long ago i was told it was the terororists fault that he was killed in an undiclosed minmitar system on a routine training op, it was a lie...
2 standard days ago my world fell apart as i was given access to his file. His mission which i was told was a peacekeeping run to Minmitar space guarding slave and passenger haulers was in fact a rouse.
imagine my horror when i found out what his underlying orders were as i read it from the highly classified file.
"At 19:50 EST Alpha 1 will detach from main escort and proceed to nearest minmitar controlled planet and test biological device X-59-12-6, Once completed Alpha 1 will remain in orbit to verify results of test"
My father was killed at 19:25 that night by a group of freedom fighters, from which group i never knew but his death caused me to fight in a peacekeeping mission which could of easily been a war if he had succeeded.
This Revelation has completely changed my personal history but does not attone for the many many Minmitar i slaughtered during my tenya with groups such as Amax.
Suddenly my many years of what i thought was protecting my fellow brothers has turned into many years of murder which inturn has made me see that i was wrong, ive never been religious and i never really served the emperor but i did serve and follow my betters such as Light Kominski, Ethidium Bromide and Gauis Kador to name a few
but i can no longer continue to fight against people who are not terrorists but are freedom fighters fighting against an oppresive monster that will consume them if they dont fight so it is under a strange set of circumstances that i found myself seeing an attack on a slave hauler by Maggot and found myself disabling the engines of said hauler, i think maggot was shocked as he had already begun locking me once i had engaged my engines to approach the hauler attack, i guess he has some honour as he didnt open fire.
Once we had reached Quafe Station in Pator obviously i was detained under armed guard but was soon released as they needed help escorting slaves off the captured ship it was when i realised what these people had gone through my mind changed, the many dirty faces in ragged cloths limping off the docking ramp, they had bites and cuts on their bodies and they were under fed, but i couldnt belive it, they smiled as if a great weight had been taken off their back and it did not matter that they could of died in the attack.
So here i am, sitting next to maggs in my Amarran ship not an image of opression but an image of freedom...Strange, one day a good guy the next day a good guy????
anyway im letting you all know even my old friends i will not hesitate to open fire and no i havn't been corrupted by evil mind tricks i chose this path, as for the Amarran Clarion i leave Konstantin in charge i guess as well as Vanderpelt im sure he can think of an adequate half truth for my leaving ;)

Darius Shakor sat in his quaters and raised an eyeborw as he read the postings on the GalNet. Of particular interest was Khanjohns announcement to all that he had joined their ranks. It was not news to him. He had been in the staff canteen last night when the room fell to a deathly silence. Following the eyes of his fellow fighters as they gazed behind him towards the door, he saw a familiar face. Even then, he must admit, he felt a flush of anger for a moment as the man before them was an Amarrian. It was only the sight of Maggot and Zoolkhan stood behind him in the doorway that snapped him back to realisation before instict took over.
They had been warned before hand, by maggot himself, of the Amarrian that was to join their ranks. Ordinarilly that would not have troubled him. Freelance Unincorporated had seen such developments in recent months with the addition of Mariah Lawsara, a Ni-Kunni, to their ranks. It was hard, however, to draw comparison to this situation. Mariah had, to Darius' knowledge, never taken up arms against them and had built a reputation as a vocal anti-amarr campaigner in the past.
This man, known to all as Khanjohn, was a former enemy of their, a man who Darius had engaged in battle on several occasions in the past along with his brothers in arms. The concept was difficult to grasp now that this man was on their side. For now, he did not know if he should trust the Amarrian or not. But he found it very hard to find reason to distrust his Admiral and Commander, Maggot. As he read Khanjohn's posting, that distrust was easing off a little more.
Of one thing he was certain, Khanjohn was a skilled pilot and fighter. That was always needed on the front lines. Darius leaned back in the chair and took a sip of the strong coffee from the metal mug and mused to himself some more on the thought of fighting along side Khanjohn.
I guess, he thought to himself, as long as he fights with all his heart, I will beable to trust him. Darius took another sip as he continued his thought out loud to himself. "And anyone who tries to take him away, will have to go through the rest of us first." ------

"Good evening Lieutenant" the Admiral said as the young brutor entered 'the office' to report in for the evenings recon mission to Amarr. The young Brutor saluted the smaller ashen skinned sebestior with respect "Greetings Admiral" Noting the odd look to Maggots face he could not help but ask "Anything happen , Sir ?"
"We have gotten two new pilots on the roster today , Lieutenant , one of which may be known to you" Here he paused with what could almost be considered humor twinkling in his eyes. "Khanjohn , formerly of Amax"
"Oh , so our replacement for Frosty finally arrived then , Admiral" the young brutor answered in a mixture of taking it all in stride and privately suspecting this was a joke
His only reward for his quip was a blank stare and while shaking his head lightly the sebestior got up to leave.
"uh.. you know as a exchange student program or something ?" the young brutor stammered as he pressed himself against the wall to allow the admiral to walk past.
"So.. I'll be flying forward observer tonight then ?" he was now talking to maggots back as he went to do whatever admiralss do before a sorti.
The young brutor sighed and muttered "better get a microwarpdrive on the Vigil tonight as well as a drive scrambler" He couldn't make up his mind whether the Admiral didn't have a sense of humor or his jokes were just poor.
Then.. mentioning Frosty never did much for anyones mood

How do you deal with the stench ? I find I can't be around the "freed" ones for extended periods without a facial mask, but maybe I'm just a spoiled pampered holder, in my experience sanitation among the enslaved ones is considerably superior to that of the wild ones.
At any rate have fun rebelling against the Empire, I'm sure it's just a phase you have to go through on the road to maturity.

Well actually the facilites here are top notch dont let the outside of their stations fool you, i mean they dont have the golden toilet seats but at least their toilets look modern, Plus the gold toilet seats always gave me a cold bum...
also they have new plumbing as well and they actually know how to fix it themselves rather than someone like you who has to get one of them todo it because generally you are "superiorly dumber" than the Minmitar ....just....like....me.... but then again i can admit that holder scum...

Edited by: Mariah Lawsara on 02/02/2005 18:39:33 Mariah stood on the balcony, gazing out on the plains of Matar that stretched out beyond her, her robe fluttering in the wind. For the past two weeks, she had decided to take a rest here on the Matari homeworld, wondering if the tales that her Matari friends from the Ushra Khan really were true about the beauty of Matar.
She wasn't disappointed. A lush green valley stretched out before her. In the distance, the silvery reflections of the Kaltari river twisted through the thick forest. Aside from a flock of birds that wheeled overhead, there was no activity below. It was a shame after centuries of abuse by her once Amarrian people that not all of Matar was like this. It was even more of a shame that she now had to leave.
She felt more calm here than in any church on Amarr Prime. Although the presence of a Ni-Kunni disturbed some of the Matari in the hotel she stayed at, the tatoo of the Red fist of the Ushra'Khan that had been placed on the back of her hand had done something to placate them. They knew that a Ni-Kunni, despite their history and place among the Amarr empire, was part of the group fighting for freedom.
And now, an Amarrian was soon to join them. Mariah was startled when Khaldorn first transmitted the news to her. A once proud pilot of the Amarr empire was now joining the fight against them. Mariah hoped that more would come. Despite making a few friends among her Matari comrades, she was one of the first Amarrian to fight against the Amarr, and she still felt a tinge of loneliness. With KhanJohn joining the fight, she felt that maybe more would come. She even thought about the prospect of creating a corporation of Amarr and Ni-Kunni within Ushra'Khan, much like PIE, but fighting against slavery rather than protecting it.
She dismissed the thought. Such an endeavor was far from possible at this time, and she still had much to learn about the ways of the freedom fighter. For now, she walked back into her room to pick up her belongings. Her shuttle was ready, and she had an Amarrian to meet...

Okay listen up Machete, mylad
I know you like killing Amarr Scum and that KhanJohn is on your KOS list, but now he's off it.
*Machete looks lost and bewildered*
Don't look dishearted, young lad, it's not everyday an Amarrian see's the errors of his race. And it's not as if the CVA is short of any willing targets now is it?
*Machete gives an evil grin*
Thats the spirit. Now arm up that Rifter, tonight we're going shopping. And it's going to be interesting to see how our new... family member... earns our respect.
"And if he doesn't, sir?" *Machete asks*
Then, young man, he's free game. ---------------------------------

Putting aside the joke about half truths (plus it is more like 1/4 i am afraid, comes with the job). Here are my thoughts.
Well KJ i see you have decided to follow your heart and i for one cannot fault that, perhaps you would consider becoming the head of the Tribune, since i have to accept your resignation from the Clarion.
Either way EG will always offer you a home for as long as you need one.

Why must he resign? I thought EG was an open and free press. Since EG was the one to assign him to the UshraKhan in the first place as a reporter, why now that he is a member must he quit? Most unusual and something to think about.
Either free the slaves or we will come and get them.

Edited by: Matt Ivresse on 03/02/2005 12:17:08 He's not resigning from EG completely Sarkos (I hope), he's merely resigning from the Amarrian Clarion, which is the part of EG that's suited to Amarrian beliefs. If an Ushra Khan member fighting against slavery was to be head of an Amarrian newspaper, that wouldn't be particularly desirable by an Amarrian viewpoint, would it? ---------------------------
