Currently training wing command lvl 5 in lack of a better option. once thats done ill either focus on training up all the missile skills to 5 or complete the few gunnery spec skills to 5 that i dont have yet.
(110m sp and still have tons of stuff to train for)

My main is about a week short of 80m. I was wondering the same thing as you, since I was pretty much having fun with what I already had. So, I kind of trained just to be training. As of now, I can fly every frigate, destroyer, and cruiser in the game. This includes T2 variants. Ditto for T3. Don't have the T2 BC yet. Amarr and Minnie BS to IV, Gallente and Caldari BS to V. T2 weapons of all types, small to large. Added a bunch of V levels to R&D stuff.
IMO, people obsess over skills too much. I know it's easy for me to say with almost 80m SP, but many have backwards thinking on them. They train some skills, and then try to figure out what to do with them. Focus more on learning the ins and outs of the activity you're doing, and then focus on the skills that support that. When you get bored with activity 'x', move on to the next thing. Talk to your corpmates or ingame friends who might be doing something else.
I don't use many of those skills above, and the others I don't really need that much. I'm happy with the activity I'm doing now. This game becomes a lot more fun when you just play. Min/Maxing and obsessing over the optimum plan/remap detracts from the fun. Get on Vent, TS, or Eve Voice. Actually talk to your corpmates. Whatever it is you're doing, just do it to have fun.
Note to OP....the last paragraph was not necessarily aimed at you. Just ranting.

I just pick random skills and start training. There is no rhyme or reason after a certain point unless your obsessed with min-maxing stuff.

Ugh... why don't you just key in the skill points with SQL Server Management Studio?
Maybe because Devs like to keep their jobs ?
It's the only way to train Polaris though, so at some point they've had SQL magic worked on them. Polaris I requires Polaris V to train for those curious. |

Many realize that most, if not all, Dev characters have max SP, so he was most likely talking about his personal character. IA would probably have issues with personal characters flying Polaris frigates.
