Hey all, Ive got some questions Re: Suicide Ganking, and before you go Nato at me for it being the lowest form of pvp ra de ra de ra, weÆre all just in the mood for some suprise********* tactics on trade routes. So here we go:
1. When you kill someone in highsec, do the standings loss cross over to the whole fleet or just the parties involved in the kill? What about your corp?
2. what calls in Concord? Locking, warp scrambling or actual firing?
3. Once you engage your target, will concord go after the whole fleet (including anyone in a safe spot or watching the gates), or will only those engaged in combat get a concordonken? What about a fleet or corp member parked nearby?
4. How severe is the force that shows up? IÆm trying to gauge what the response would be to make sure we all tank sufficiently to atleast get the kill.
5. Will using a ship/cargo scanner on a potential target get you a patented Concord Curb Pounding?
Finally, any and all tips and or ætricksÆ people could pass on would be great. Anything from ship choice to tactics would be greatly appreciated. If you donÆt want to reveal your tricks of the trade to the public, please feel free to contact me via evemail.

Anyone who activates an offensive module in hi-sec against an illegal target will die in short order.

1) Sec status drops for those who aggress only. Drop is small for attacking a ship, medium for killing a ship, and very large for killing a pod.
2) Scramming/shooting/ECM/etc Scanning will not get you concordekken
3) Only those who aggess are destroyed.
4) You will be ECM'd as soon as concord lands in the field. Additionally, you will lose your buffer in a matter of seconds. I recommend smartbombs for 0.8 and higher (as you can do those without locking), just be careful of smacking pods accidentally.
5) See above. Short answer: No.

To give you an idea how fast CONCORD kills things. Fastforward to 1:20 As Aerilis and Loraine said, only those activating the offensive mods get the standings/sec loss. Yeah I am a pirate. What are you gonna do about it? Killboard link is not allowed to be used in a signature.Applebabe

So by the sounds of it, best thing to do is grab anything cheap with 8 highs, whack on a massive buffer and 8 smart bombs. and park up next to my target of choice.
thanks for the info and quick response guys

Depends on what you plan on ganking. A BS with 8 turret hardpoints and the PG to fit 1400's are good also. If its a freighter, use gank torp Ravens and Arty boats also. Yeah I am a pirate. What are you gonna do about it? Killboard link is not allowed to be used in a signature.Applebabe

Edited by: Th Scarecrow on 17/02/2011 01:00:24 But wouldnt a gank fit torp raven and arty require you to maintain lock? I thought Concords justice stick had nails driven through the end that would break your locks?

edit: Forgot to ask a question, if im happly smart bombing away, and the target pops, will any remaining smart bombs pop the loot can from their ship? Were goin to have to fund our little enterprise some how

Check my in-game bio for a you tube link to a video I made just last weekend for giggles. Had 16 seconds from initial smart bomb until concord arrived. Lock was instantly broken, cap instantly dried, took about 8-10 seconds to kill me. Gang ganks work differently but if your going solo just grab any BS and dont bother with tank mods.

Much higher DPS and alpha, smartbombs are good for mining ops and such. However, if you are ganking something with a bunch of EHP, Torps and Arties are best. Yeah I am a pirate. What are you gonna do about it? Killboard link is not allowed to be used in a signature.Applebabe

Buffer is useless. CONCORD could probably one shot a titan.
Hulkageddon is going on right now. Check killboards for dead hulks in highsec to get an idea of suicide ganking in practice.
