So just a quick question, is it worth using Amarr ships for anything other than Amarr missions or am I just better off cross training?

And Lo, on the 7th day did CCP declare: "Thou shalt train Winmatar if thine wishest to PvP; Thou shalt train Caldari if thine wishest to PvE. Rejoice in what I have favored and be glad. Train not in the ways of the Gallente, or the Amarr, for they have foresaken CCP, if they attain glory at all it shall be fleeting before the Eternal Majesty of my favored Sons. Train now for the Winmatar and the Caldari, for with them I am much pleased."

Lies.
Amarr has some very high quality ships once you get past the dreck of their T1 cruisers and frigs. If you're already Caldari trained, there's a nifty little Sansha BS you might want to consider. Ninja Extravaganza, Strategies for Ninja Salvagers

LOL WIN! I wouldn't agree entirely though. Gallente is certainly left out... but they do have some nice ships (ishtar). I feel amarr is great for pvp and yes to the post above.. the nightmare is a great ship.

In order to be effective in Amarr ships against other factions, you need to be flying something that isn't a pure laser boat. Which means a good drone boat (Harby, Arbi, Geddon) or a T2 boat with missile launchers (no T1s have missile bonuses). As long as you have drones or missiles, you can customize your damage to suit whatever you're fighting, circumventing the weakness of being locked in EM/Thermal damage with your lasers.
If you're going to try to stick to pure Amarr training, I'd personally put points in drones rather than missiles, as the Amarr missile boats tend to be rare and specialized and expensive, while you can get good T1 Amarr drone boats pretty easily.

Amarr is great for PvP, and they have good missionboats, as long as you keep missioning in Amarr space. So dont worry.
