I am looking to learn PVP and build my resume, but I don't want to clutter my Corp history with crappy corps. What is the best method to gain PVP experience and KM's if you're on your own until the resume is sufficient to get into a good long time PVP corp?

You could join Red vs Blue for a while to get some experience and build up your board a bit, don't think anyone would mind that on your corp history.

Jump into a lowsec system, check out some belts. You're sure to find a fight of some sort.
As long as your fits aren't terrible, people won't mind 10 rifter losses on your battleclinic. Shows you were trying. --- --- Sinners. - A new pirate corp with old pirate roots. Killboard

Pro-PvP groups usually have training corps you can join. Just ask around.

Some of the best PvP I've had in Eve has been over the last few months, whilst I've been in a rookie corp. It's just a better scenario not having to worry about other fleet members, or leaning on corpies like a crutch when you get into trouble.
Certainly adds a something something :)

Throwing my plug in for Red vs Blue as well. I don't know you'll find a faster and easier way to get into learning pvp. you fit up super cheap if you'd like, you can arrange 1 vs 1s that are honoured, and they are seeing mixed size fleets a lot more.
I learned a lot about over heating, when to run away, and not to sweat a ship blowing up in RvB, hugely useful in EVE.

at some point, I'll hook up with a larger pvp corp once I've made my bones, so to speak. try it :)

lol.
Well. While you're waiting for your invite to whatever the current FoTM corp is you could just buy a stack of rifters and get out there and start shooting **** and work it out yourself.
You sound like you love yourself a bit though so I don't know how successful you are going to be at learning to PVP the hard way. You need to be able to look at your performance in an unsentimental way and be honest with yourself about how and where you need to improve.

Heh "build my resume", dear gods
OK first things first.
Give Battleclinic your API. That means you don't bother posting KMs or lossmails unless it doesn't show up after a couple of days.
Personally I wouldn't bother hunting down "missing KMs" from other killboards. Whoever you apply to (assuming a "decent" PvP corp, whatever the hell that is ) will look through them all anyway. Battleclinic is pretty much first port of call anyway for a quick check on someone so "API Verified" tick on there saves corps time when looking at your app.
Quickest and "cleanest" method of gaining PvP experience is to join Factional Warfare. Then ignore ALL "blues" and their fleets. You can now aggress wartargets (ie opposing militias) on-gate, on-station and in high-sec. They can do the same to you. Edit - the advantage of this over RvB is that you can probably earn some iskies to replace losses. Or not. Been a while so could have got nerfed again.
Once you've done a bit of that then decide what you want to do - low-sec PvP, high-sec (wardecs) PvP, or nullsec PvP and go from there in terms of apps.
Edit2 - one of the things Battleclinic is very good for is quickly checking whether people like solo stuff, small gang, or big fleet. For example, you get someone with 3000 kills and under 100 losses then experienced people can hazard a guess what that means ;) BC basically gives a given ship a number of points and then divides that up between killers - it also reduces the loss points accordingly depending on number of killers. Most other KBs just give out the same points to everyone on the KM. Its a point of contention for some

Four days old, already has his own corp and a Navy Hookbill. Somehow I think there is more to this story than you are telling.

why whenever people ask for some real advice on pvping to get to know how it really works everyone starts screaming red v blue. thats not how the real pvp works, but it sure is great if you plan on staying in red v blue forever...i personally see no use in being encouraged to fit crappy ships and fight organized fights where you pretty much know whats going to happen.......join an active null sec alliance, you will learn.

RvB recruits in waves. They progressively get louder and louder until finally they come back out with weekly reports nobody cares about.

Edited by: Kitty McKitty on 06/02/2011 21:14:00 You don't need a corp to go pvp, you need self motivation. No one cares about corp history getting cluttered except morons. I'd be more concerned about showing that you are active and at least somewhat competent at pvp, if not in kills then at least in how you fit your ships.
this is your 'pvp' history lol
EDIT: MORE FAIL JESUS CHRIST, looking at your post history [1] [2] is quite amusing thanks a lot OP.
Quote: I am looking to join a 0.0 PvP.
I prefer a corp in one of the larger alliances.
Corp should have a kill ratio of at least 90%.
Quote: Hi, I am still searching for the right Corporation. I am searching for a great 0.0 PVP corp. I am looking for one that I will be with until I stop playing Eve. I am now in Minmatar HACs and fully T2 fitted, completed my T2 medium guns and HAC skills this week. Cheers!
And you go on to turn down offers because they are not from some FOTM alliance and yet you have absolutely no evidence that you are worthy of joining even a scrub corp.
Elsewhere you smack someone looking for recruitment (see [2] above)...
Quote: Sounds like you're a pure carebear mate. Not many corps will seek you out, you need to be seeking them out.
A renting corp might be up your ally.

a good way to find employment is to have logistics 4 with maxed out support skills.
0.0 corps love logi pilots and being able to fly one is a massive win.
as a side bonus, learning to fly a logi will also give you many skills to fly a hac and recon. another win for many corps.
you don't always need a padded out kill board to get in even good corps. the right skills and attitude play a big part.
good luck though, pvp is allot of fun.
