The only Amarr frigate I've heard mention of is the Autocannon Punisher which still suffers from lack of speed. Thats what I hear anyways. ----------------------------------- They see me trollin... |

Punisher with lasers, autocannons or blasters .. they all work. Imperial Slicer, works as kiting or brawler ship. Crucifier, bonused TD's make grown men weep. Awesome gang-support.

Your standard AC Punisher is an awesome ship. Here's a basic fit;
[Punisher, AC-Gasm] 200mm AutoCannon II, Republic Fleet Phased Plasma S 200mm AutoCannon II, Republic Fleet Phased Plasma S 200mm AutoCannon II, Republic Fleet Phased Plasma S Small Energy Neutralizer II
1MN Afterburner II Fleeting Progressive Warp Scrambler I
Small Armor Repairer II 200mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I Damage Control II Adaptive Nano Plating II
Small Projectile Ambit Extension I Small Projectile Ambit Extension I Small Projectile Collision Accelerator I
Run whatever ammo you need, hits for about 100 DPS with perfect skills, but has a solid 6k ehp. With the Neut off you can run everything for a minute and a half, should be enough to down your target. Pule the repairer as needed.
Another good choice is the Executioner is a good tackler. Use the guns for taking out tricky droneses(hence the Fusion Ammo as you'll have a problem with Warriors), otherwise just chill at 22km or so and keep them disrupted while gang members arrive. Speed is your tank, don't get webbed and stay away from targets that can neut as without the Interceptor range bonus you will be in Heavy Neut range.

Hhaha i like the Punisher, one of my favorite solo frigs... i used to put Blasters en Small Energy Knave in the high slots and afterburner + warp scrambler/disruptor in the meds and armor tanking in the lows.
I could get over 100 DPS with that setup... its a sturdy ship and i still like to use it. -------------------- Trade & PVP! I hate grinding! |

I'm not a fan of the 200s on a Punisher for up close work. I like the tracking of the 150s, and the overall damage isn't much different. 200s aren't terrible though.
Make sure to carry barrage with you. If you're in a 1v1 frigate duel and the other guy is kiting you, Barrage will allow you to get some decent hits in and, since you're at range, your armor rep should be able to handle incoming damage.
In this situation, the best you can hope for is a draw - the other guy will eventually just leave. It's better than a loss though.
And that is the problem with the Punisher. It only has 2 mid slots. You can have speed and point, or point and web. Some people prefer a point and web. I prefer point and speed, since it can help you apply the point in the first place if you don't land right on top of your target. It is a poor close range ship.
Writing this post I wondered if a kiting Punisher might work, with MWD and long point. I would fit it something like this. Has anyone tried this before? How did it handle?

Paper thin, not all that fast, but fast enough to stay away from an AB frig. Considering how popular afterburners are in lowsec it might be a viable option.
