I was wondering if you can add skill for the training queue from the Eve Gate.

You can't.
It might perhaps be added in the (far) future.

Ah, that's what I thought. Thank you.

tbh the answer sould be never - or in worst case, when CCP see it as a final option to get ppl to subscribe, in which case eve truely is dying.

To be honest I think there would be larger things that would be introduced if Eve truly was dying, to try rope in customers. Skill points through actions springs to mind, as well as increasing learning rates, skill point rewards through missions, skill points purchase (as in raw SP purchase, not like buying a character), and finally making it truly free to play.
Still, I wouldn't mind the idea, or at least a lighter client to input skill training.

I welcome you to the most boring months in EVE history, I will be here but it will be a sad few months.

I agree it shouldn't be possible, but Devs have said a few times that they're looking to make everything which doesn't involve flying a ship available in EVE Gate.

While it would entice me to use evegate I think people shouldn't get easier access to not play the game and 'benefiting' from not playing like that is a step in the wrong direction. Skill training which requires very little 'effort' to keep your queue full shouldn't be something you do without logging into the game.
It seems stupid to me to not offer a 'low end' EVE client (classic) yet they will cater to a web based EVE construct, evegate, where people can use it with anything that can run an internet browser. I get that it is easier to do so without dealing with graphics aspects/issues but it closes off players from the actual fulfilling parts of EVE space based gameplay and eventually station based game play, if they add some of course.
I'd add I don't know the technical aspects of web based market adjustments, invention, etc but I tend to think a web browser loading a site would be even easier, or at least remove some possible restrictions that 'owning' the method of access like the client has to create 3rd party automated programs to do your tedious tasks for you.

Well if people weren't playing they couldn't earn ISK. The reason I had asked, is that I am out of town and have no acess to the game (thought I would and was wrong).

If you're out for a long while, queue a long skill. Personally I'm saving Drone Interfacing V for a time when I won't be able to get to a PC with Eve installed. That's about 20 days of training. There's longer skills too, so just queue a long skill.

I disagree. Changing skills isn't playing the game. What's the point of launching the game and logging in when all you want to do is add another skill to the queue? -- [Aussie players: join ANZAC channel] |

and the definition of EVE dying: Is when people only train up chars via Gate in order to resell, which will be the scenario when Gate allows change of skills.
Will it happen? I'm sure it will.
Wfll it be good for for EVE itself? Doubt it.
But then, I don't blame CCP one bit of it either, as it has grown from a community company to a money making company. They would not be able to keep its current staff (which btw is ****ing awesome) on the budget they had back in '04-05. A time when community was intergated with pilots (change cannot be avoided obv).

Not sure the sky would fall that far, but it would be nice for those of us on the go.
