I am experiencing problems....
I open the client, go to patch... it starts patching, verifying, and then "some of the files have been modified! Please re-install"
There's an option to view log, so I open up the log... everything looks fine till about 2/3 the way down, where I get:
Examining File : /Contents/Frameworks/wineserver -> OK Examining File : /Contents/MacOS/cider -> SHA1 Error Examining File : /Contents/MacOS/cider_noui -> SHA1 Error Examining File : /Contents/Resources/Czech.lproj/Localizable.strings -> OK
I can't figure out what to do.... halp?

Can you please tell me what Client version you had before patching and have you tried downloading the full mac installer to see if that resolves the issue?

The Anti-aliasing setting is "disabled" and cannot be "enabled" on the mac - is this working as intended?

I have 2 copies of Eve installed, one copy updates and works fine. The second copy will not even open after patching the other copy.
Have run the repair tool and no errors... any thoughts?

Have you tried deleting the preferences by going to Places/username/Library/Preferences and then dragging the EVE Online Preferences folder into the Trash Bin?

Edited by: Max Singularity on 30/11/2010 16:22:19 Mac Two Clients:
TL;DR: One client works, the other don't after upgrade.
I have installed two clients per ccp directions many months ago and both work fine with Tyrannis. Installed the update on client #1 and applied the client patch. Now client 1 works* but client 2 shows strange behavior. Number 2 will show the small Incursion splash screen and the Eve icon is in the dock, but after the splash screen goes away... NOTHING. I have to use Mac's Force Quit to shut it down.
I've tried to only launch client 2 without 1, but again it is the same issue as above. Client 2 is borked.
Please help and address.
* Dual Display don't work. Anti-Alias is as "intended" (you could have posted that in the notes)

Yeah i've got a problem too after trying to apply the patch. The iPatch said something like some files are changed and got a @#$load of errors in the logg (mostly something with languages in the route). I did used the eve repair tool but now the client doesn't even start, does nothing. :( Sacrifixe |

I am guessing you are talking about the directions given in the Mac section of this Evelopedia wiki article. If so then my next question is whether you have edited the info.plist file since updating to make sure the two client installs are again using separate cache folders? If not then that seems like a likely culprit, and if you are not using that method then I¦d appreciate a link to the 'CCP directions' you are using. ------------------ Tester, Scrum Master Quality Assurance

Are we ever going to get these much-lauded graphics improvements? Would be nice to know in the patch notes if they don't apply to OSX clients.
And when can we get that intro music in the jukebox?

We are working on getting AA into the Mac client as well, and the patch notes should be clarified soon to mention specifically which graphics updates do not apply to Mac clients. ------------------ Tester, Scrum Master Quality Assurance

Woot! Much thanks!
As regards to updating a SECOND client, it won't happen afaik, just trash it a re-copy the updated one. Worked for me.

The repair tool worked for me, with the caveat that you see my post about permissions if EVE fails to launch.

Thanks a lot.
As one of the terminally challenged, thanks for your help. All fixed now.

Seems to be working fine here so far... except yet again the patch blows away the custom preferences file to force the client to start in Windowed mode. It's becoming a patch-day ritual!
Although I must admit, as far as inconveniences go, this is pretty minor.

Could we get some estimate on when the resizable client and the Fixed Window options will be available for Mac? Everything updated beautifully and the changes are lovely, but the 2 I was most looking forward to don't work on Mac :( I don't really care about the AA as I most likely wont be using it, but those two... Anyway... I really hope you will fix it soon(Ö).
P.S. Has the Monitor window (cmd+opt+shift+m) always killed all FPSs when you launched it? Anyhow.. it did for me. FPS dropped to something like 0.1FPS and I had to force-quite the client.

EDIT: nvm it works now
And how did you get it working?
uninstalled the eve client after the "eve repair tool" failed, the client didn't do anything at all. Downloaded a fresh client, rebooted and tried to install eve again (eve-premium_004952_207554-mac.dmg) error -4960. Thought maybe the download got corrupted cuz i was downloading afk. So i downloaded the client again and the same error again. :'(

We were never required to use different folders in the first place, in fact IME it worked better when I shared folders. If this has changed to a REQUIREMENT, it should have been in the patch notes, and needs to be updated on the wiki:
Quote: Another way is to force open a new instance of an application which can be done with a Terminal Command:
1. Go to the Utilities Folder (/Applications/Utilities or press Command+Shift+U in Finder) 2. Open Terminal 3. Type in "open -n /Applications/EVE\ Online.app", and press Enter. If you have EVE installed in another location modify the path accordingly
Each time the command is typed and Enter is pressed will start a new instance of eve (You can go back to previously typed commands by pressing the "Up arrow Key")
The backside of this is that the settings will be shared and therefore is prone to having trouble when both instances of the application is trying to write settings.
