EvE is 10 years old now. It takes months for players to really get into the swing of things. What if there was a new server for every 10 years of EvE.
Personally, I'm getting tired of the way things are, a reboot would do me wonders, even the playing field, allow newer players a place to go where what they do is proportionate with those around them.
I think it's an idea that deserves a little consideration at least.

Its olny the missguided perception that some people seem to have, that people with more SP's are better than them, that stops players going where they want to go.

Thing is - you can't just reboot eve like its a average mmo server. There is friends and trusts, there is infrastructure build, structures raised and paths used = all bought with invested time/money. Now your offer sounds great for the new guy - go in and everyone starts even. But he will be even, everyone else will lose. Again training tactical shield operation V ? cruisers V ? I fear that your idea will be the doom of eve - i.e. almost anyone with 10-20+sp will just say **** it and leave. Once we all have nothing to lose - we are free
Building everything from scrach, with the old friends, without carriers and posses. Farming in procurers (even after the buff) - yeah this will give us direction ... if we are new alliance trying to rebuild stuff. But everyone else will know what they had and lost. If you want a reboot - join a new alliance, that is just forming. Together try to battle your way towards the high ground- your own space in 0.0 or low sec. Mine and ransom , win and die - forge your home. From the newbships to the carriers. Competition - there will be always one to hone your skills. |

I don't mean to delete the currently existing server, the idea was of another server. Which yes, I agree it defeats the single shard idea... and it may be difficult to fix that issue but there are possibilities. Maybe an option to migrate to the original server but not to migrate to newer ones. So the main shard is continuously collecting more players, when they are ready. |

As much as I'd like to see eve do a restart, it won't happen and would be a terrible idea economically. CCP would go bankrupt if they did it. Breaking the game into multiple shards is also a bad idea. The in game economy is based on the single shard premise and I doubt you'd get enough people on both shards for both groups to survive. The Troll is trolling. |

Perhaps not necessarily another server but another star cluster, reachable only by pod jumping. Whatever form it takes it must happen eventually if eve continues to grow at it's current rate |

Of course!! That's a fantastic idea. It remains on the same shard, could even be that the entry pipe only allow a certain SP or aged character inside, and higher characters are denied access. Intriguing. |

It-¦s an MMO - interaction with other people is part of the gameplay.
If your current home is to hot for your flavour, move to some highsec-grounds or less "fame" lowsec. Having corp-hq in amamake an complaining about higher-sp people in your eve doesn-¦t fit well.

I actually don't play much at all these days, been re-evaluating where I'm going with games, MMORPG vs Console vs non MMO's. It brought what issues I have with other games and EvE and it just got me to thinking about things like this. I'm enjoying the conversation. |

I'd enjoy a global reset, but it wouldn't do what people like you expect.
The most organized groups wouldn't simply dominate nullsec...they'd be able to control the development of the new economy. They would dictate the trade hub locations simply by controlling where the first T2 items went to market. EVERYTHING would be determined by a handful of people leading thousands. The new Eve wouldn't be shaped by a decade of cultural evolution and player habit, it would be dictated by those with the influence and knowledge to seize power immediately. The Skunkworks is recruiting. -áhttps://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1540711#post1540711 |

One of the things that I love about Eve is that everything that other folks do matters to me because we are all on the same server. What they do has a direct impact on me, and if there was a totally different star cluster then I would lose that. What happens over there will not matter to me. Instead of one Eve you have two smaller ones.
Now, I don't mind the addition of W-Space or more regions. But this wouldn't be a reboot or make anything event. It would largely be more of the same. |

EVE is designed so that older players are (supposed to be) rewarded. The skill system is a big part of that. You can't just come in, do nothing but grind EP, and surpass the people who have real jobs. That has killed earlier MMOs.
I see you started a little over two years ago. You should be at a point where you can do a lot more than you used to. After the one year mark is when, I feel, a player has enough skills to really enjoy the game. Stick around and give it time. The longer you play, the better it gets.
If I might recommend, watch the ATX videos. I wasnGÇÖt playing too much until I started watching this yearGÇÖs tournament. It was very entertaining and gave me some ideas. |
