So, if anything, the list is probably slightly more likely to be biased AGAINST older characters.
Slightly?
nm, i'll leave the field with my original comment - pointless lists that obscure the truth rather than bringing it into focus.

I'll be five in about a month. I've taken a two couple month breaks, about 10 of the people I met in my first corp are still around.

One thing I worked out is that I am 3 days younger than someone in the top 5 , yet I have 10 mill SP more than them , guess they took a holiday at some time !

So, it is then somehow your claim that the percentage of now-active characters created before the year 2005 ended (3546 out of 23229 on that list, so about 15%) is noticeably lower or much higher than 15% ?!? Like, oh, say, under 10% or over 20% ?
P.S. From the tone of your post, I will be assuming you want to claim something closer to the latter, namely that the percentage is higher than 20%. Well, back in late 2005 and early 2006, the game had slightly over 75k subscribers, so even if ALL of them maintained an account, given the current 350+k subscribers, that would still mean at most around 22%. For you to be right, the number of people from before 2006 that are still playing needs to be around 90%, so basically almost everybody.

Edited by: Leksi Bar''zuk on 10/11/2010 21:34:30 Early '05 arrival main here with quite a few alts at a similar age.
I interact with all ages of character, but will admit that I ignore most corp and alliance chatter from members less than four years of characer age. We've got quite a few of the little runts fast-tracking into Nyx pilots these days and quite frankly it's sad they can get away with it.

I created a character in 2004 and played for a bit, but I screwed up my attributes at character creation and biomassed him around xmas 2004 iirc.
Decided to give EVE another try in June 2005 and apart from a bit of inactivity here and there (mostly in 2008 and 2009), I've been here ever since.
Only 2-3 people still play from my past, but I was happy to find out an old RL friend I went to school with, and haven't seen for 10 years, started playing about 8 months ago. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I know of a few other 2005'ers and before that, too. They're pretty silent when it comes to forums, but they're out there. --

2004 here and still very active. On top of that, I've been a pirate for most of that time, which is pretty good considering most pirates reform. I'm happy to say I was part of one of the first real pirate alliances in EVE before the alliance system was introduced and changed everything. |

Started on the first day of EvE 2003 about 3 hours after servers were up,
I play a little now, mainly on an Alt but keep this char training, lots of people still playing from when I started (fountain was a great place to meet people in the first year) still however most are involved in big 0.0 warfare and I personally been out of that for 2-3 years because of lack of time.
Now I spend my days playing mainly solo because my play time is not the same it was 7 years ago ---------- ----

Since 2005 me, i notice a couple of folks posting here on chars that definatley were not theirs 5 years ago !!! :P Most of the chars over five years will only have about half the possible SP dues to starting and stoppping their subs i suspect.

Edited by: Pookie McPook on 11/11/2010 14:08:04 '06 but only 23m SP due to several prolonged absences. Therein lies the rub, EvE is very forgiving to players who join, leave, rejoin, etc etc. There's always something worth coming back to imo. -----
