Edited by: Lord Booya on 02/11/2010 20:52:59 Hi all.
I have started to look into fittings and using faction battleships for pvp. There seems to be a running joke about this. Everyone I ask for tips and advice all seem to have the same answer of ask some guy named dhbwildcat. However when I ask people who he is they say it was some guy who played a long time ago.... so being tired with the run around I figured I would asked here.
1) Which ship is best for hit and run tactics and suggested setups?
2) Which is best for up close brawling and possible set-ups?
Thanks for any help.
Oh and does anyone know what the joke is with that wildcat guy?

Ask DHBWildcat :P
I hear the Dramiel thrown around alot. It's an Angel Cartel Frigate I think. It's REALLY fast, hard to lock and hit, and can pack a whallop. But with the right setup, you can probably instapop it, cause it's still a Frigate. I don't know much about these things though.

The ship you are looking for, both hit-and-run as well as close-range brawling, is the Machariel.
[Machariel, Cleaver] Domination Gyrostabilizer Domination Gyrostabilizer Overdrive Injector System II Nanofiber Internal Structure II Nanofiber Internal Structure II Damage Control II Tracking Enhancer II
Domination Warp Disruptor Heavy Capacitor Booster II, Cap Booster 25 Invulnerability Field II Invulnerability Field II 100MN MicroWarpdrive II
Imperial Navy Heavy Energy Neutralizer 800mm Repeating Artillery II, EMP L 800mm Repeating Artillery II, EMP L 800mm Repeating Artillery II, EMP L 800mm Repeating Artillery II, EMP L 800mm Repeating Artillery II, EMP L 800mm Repeating Artillery II, EMP L 800mm Repeating Artillery II, EMP L
Large Polycarbon Engine Housing I Large Core Defence Field Extender I Large Core Defence Field Extender I
Technically the Vindicator is more geared towards close-range combat, but it is a ship in major need of fixing. For now, you are best off with the Mach. dhbwildcat is most likely a player famous for flying faction battleships of all kinds. If you look him up on Battleclinic, YouTube, EVE-search, or Google, you will most likely be able to find the information you want. ---------

Last sentence made most sense.

I have fought and lost against DHBwildcat.
Around my part of EVE, he often flew an active tanked Nightmare. He was often able to tank 3-7 other battleships and at least jump back in the gate on the 30 second timer.
He played very conservatively. As least from what I saw, he never left the jump range of the gate, or not without overwhelming numbers. Usually, he was the one outnumbered, and he hung out at the gate (back to Empire from 0.0).
