Edited by: Elemmakil on 07/01/2005 14:43:37 What do you think about implementing a system which will take count of your kills? maybe there could be 2 kind of them NPC and PVP with a ladder system too to see who are the top "killers" in the game? That would encourage combat rewards. I know it`s not a very original idea but Eve seems to be a game where these kind of things would work very well.
For non combat corporations there could be a wealth board too

Many people probably don't want to be known as the No. 1 NPC-killer ingame. Makes them a target.
Same for PVP players, maybe the most effective ones are those least written about and they prefer it that way as long as they can maintain it.
Same goes for wealth, unneeded publicy for many to be on such a list.
And then there are easy ways to skew it, create a trial account, podkill your alt 4389 times so you can go top, etc.

Fame brings some risks p maybe a lot of players would enjoy that kind of risks. About exploits just put a similar system to how security hits work, anyway i was talking about a kill board by type of SHIP, so destroying 1000 velators won`t put you at the top.
There`s actually a ladder system in the game, that`s the bounty one i bet pirates are proud to be the most wanted guys in the galaxy, why not extend that to other warriors too? The fun which derives from this ladder stuff is superior to the "negative" one you`re talking about at least that are my thoughts

An in-game ladder is dumb. use Eve-Kills if you want to measure your*****. _________________________________________________________

With insurance it would be pointless, as paying a platinum insurance almost pays out more than the ship's cost. -Buy ship from corp -Pod ship-->+1 kill -Take insurance
Rince and repeat.
Peeps that want to be known already trace their performance. And most of them use Eve-kill like pages/apps.

BoB killboard > Eve Kills
So HMV consider Andy Williams and Dean Martin to be "easy listening" do they? Tell that to my mate Dave, he's been deaf for 20 years.
