If I were super rich I would hire people to build a new and better MMO.
And then I would go on my official forums and call both the care bears and the the whiney "hardcores" who want to eat care bears names which would get me banned on any other forum.
Wherever you went - Here you are.

What is the logic behind this? You think being rich means you'll suddenly lose interest in video games? Why? Does money have some kind of video game repellant property that I'm not aware of?
Do you think if you suddenly become rich that you'll be able to have Playboy Bunnies bow to your every demand, and you'll be sky diving from your private jet? You won't; you'll just get a better gaming rig and a nicer car. ---------------------------------------------- I don't have an alt, but there's a main that would be upset if he heard me say that... |

If I were uber rich in RL, I'd found a gaming company, hire the best of the best, and create an internet spaceship game that would make all of you drool.
And I'd play it.

Sorry to disappoint you, but RL doesn't work that way.

Same. The mission would be to create the best game ever. I'd drive all the employees mad with my perfectionism, the game would never be finished, and it would be even more of a joke than Duke Nukem Forever. But meh, I'm rich so whatever...

I'd invest a **** load of RL money in CCP, and would start making changes like a good CEO would.
CCP is a private company.
Private companies don't accept outside funding?
There's a difference between being publicly traded and having investors.

I would buy CCP, and since I was uber rich I would hire a few hounded more people to have the game rewritten in c++, and crucial parts in c. also get it to work on multiple cores.
All ships would be changed to modular ships, supporting their primary role, but giving the players the ability to modify them a little (not at the scale of strategic cruisers). you could change a hauler to increase its cargohold, speed and agility, or defences and weaponry...
remove local in lowsec and 0.0 and add a new scanning tool. could be just a modified dscanner with the cone added to the system map.
Add pirate missions to lowsec (sansha, guristas...) so slaves, snakes, crystals...could be obtained in lowsec. Since they are illegal it would only be possible to obtain them in lowsec in incarna off-line mode, or in nullsec. Agents would be in most stations, even if the station does not belong to their faction, as they would also operate in incarna off-line mode. Effort would be put into removing docking games, by providing docked players with the situation outside of the station, and agro timers based on weight. Based on the owners standings, said pirate agents would appear in player owned bars, and conduct their business there. Agents will randomly want a drink at the pilots expense, providing irrelevant but fun income for the owner. Different factions would utilize different means of locating said agents, all explained through storyline missions.
It would also be possible to manufacture boosters in lowsec. The gas needed for the manufacture would also be minable in lowsec, whilst ALL the bpcs would be provided by the pirate lp stores.
lets see...what else..oh right, alliance tournament mechanics for pirate tournaments. On certain evenings pirate factions would organize tournaments in lowsec. pod pilots could sign up and fight. these would be held at beacons which would pop up on everyone's overview, so everyone could warp in and watch. order would be maintained by the buffed pirate NPCs. rules would be similar to the alliance tournament. groups could sign up and fight as well.
Mining would be changed so that one could scan for passing asteroids. once the scan is complete you would receive the information of its location and speed telling you how long until it disappears out of the system and into the void of space for ever. depending on the size, this could be a few hours, meaning you need to act now, and go mining, or a few days for the bigger ones, meaning you can organize a mining op with your corpies.
mining an asteroid moving though space at high speeds leaving behind it a lot of debris would not include mind-numbing boredom of sitting and activating lasers, but a lot of damage to the ship, mitigating said damage by changing orbits, active shield/armour tanking where cap would need to be distributed between the mining lasers and tank, thus effecting the amount of ore mined, by the ability of the pilot to tank at near cap and tank break point. Asteroid ore would be condensed and could easily be stored in the ship, so no hauling would be necessary. Obviously it would be more difficult to catch such a miner.
Corpses would be salvageable...what you would make with them I don't know, the possibilities are endless, but it seems very eveish and thus awesome to be possible to scoop corpses to cargo-hold and then perform devious operations on modified bodies once inhabited by a capsuleer minds. I think it would be interesting to modify said bodies to make them appear to be alive capsuleer bodies when scanned, meaning you would put them into decoy pods which you would keep in your cargo-hold, so that when your ship explodes, multiple pods emerge. decoy pods
Races would receive unique ships, true to their character, but said ships might not be of the same class, minmatar would for example get a new fast interceptor, while amarr would get a slow battleship.
damn...ran out of characters for this post...ah well...back to drinking

Nope. I'd pretty much play the way I play now. When I have the time to game, I'd log in and play. When I don't, I keep my queue updated to train.
What good is having hundreds of billions of ISK if you don't have the skills to pilot the ships? And I'm not talking about SP as much. Plenty of folks buy chars off the bazaar yet get their butts shot off left and right because they don't know how to fly their ships in PvP.
There's "enough to do what I want" and more than enough. With more than enough, the only ones that could/would find value in that "hundreds of billions" are PvE types and they'd be marketeers. PvP players? Pick up plex as you need it, if you need it, and just keep playing as you do and that's done with a hell of a lot less than the number you have shown.
PS: If you are rich, you do what you like to do and if what you like is playing MMO's, EVE is a good choice. I haven't met anyone in this game who I know to be "rich" but I have met them in other games -- WOW, LOTRO on back to EQ-1. So if someone likes a MMO and has RL funds... It's no different than how others operate. You don't have to be less than "rich" to find enjoyment in this game.

Illogical to you? w/e. if i were "super-rich" why the hell would i be resort to any form of internet mediation? i wouldn't. i don't love internet games that damn much.
found a new company? not too unlikely really, but such a venture wouldn't be entertainment-based, were i "super-rich" at least.

If I were super rich - Id prolly be greedy and work around the clock to get mooorreeee
Usually works that way... super rich ppl just work, other ppl tuck their beds, play their games, make their children etc...
Q: Now then would I want to be super rich A: Naw
Q: would i put in few grand even not being super rich (I can afford it anyways) A: No - it rounds the game, its as if u were playing Doom with IDKFA and IDDQD... yea you pwn everything, but it just aint fun

I think the general notion of super-rich is normally where you don't even work for it anymore. You might, or might not, employ a number of people to work for more of it, if you like. But the term super-rich would usually refer to someone who at least knows someone who owns the printing presses, so to speak. It's a legacy thing beyond that.

Totally this, money becomes something material or it isn't money, it's just numbers attached to gold or paper or military influence i mean c'monnnn. Also lol @ the phrase "work for money", really rich people live off the interest from the interest and have never worked, not in generations. The scrabbling tycoons you see in the papers will never have enough, they need people around them to suggest creating foundations or hospitals or libraries, they are about the getting, not the having and definitely not the using of money.
