Just an FYI for new people wondering how the Cerebral Accelerator is applied to your account. If you want to buy the new retail box and use the Accelerator to it's max don't use it to make a trial account a full account. The Accelerator is only good for the first 35 days of the account. Meaning if you upgrade a trial account to a full account all the time spent on trial will be deducted from the Accelerator usage.
I also had a span of 8 days between the time when my trial ended and I bought the retail box and re-upped the account. Those 8 days were subtracted from the Accelerators usage as well.
AND, to add to that the Accelerator wasn't initially awarded to my account so after 2 days of waiting for a response to my petition I finally got it. In the end I get the use of the Accelerator for 12 days (instead of 35). I suppose I shouldn't complain about something FREE but I found this to be a tad misleading.
Is this typical of this company?

No, the cerebral accelerator is somewhat of an anomaly. The Cerebral Accelerator is the first time they created an item that can only be used a certain time after character creation.
This is to prevent vets from just buying the thing and boosting their training rates.
and further more why do i even need a sig? |

If you plug the implant after day 10 you lost 10 days. If you do it in the first day (the life of the character) you don't lose anything, just made a new account and it works ok.

you obviously didn't read my post, I used this on a character I created during my trial period. I plugged it into my character on the first day of his non-trial life to find the remaining time on the Accelerator to be 12 days.

This is a good point. I had thought about getting this retail box to go from trial to paid but it was not available here. Cost wise it is probably the same as the $20 to activate my account beyond the trial, but still I would have been a little ticked off if I tried to apply that code and redeem the boost to find that 14 days had been used off it.
Completely understandable that they do not want this used a RMT for an in-game benefit, but they should have made it count from when the account was upgraded from trial (if possible).

op you're overlooking the "maximum pilot age 35 days" attribute on the cerebral accelerator. shouldn't matter if you're trial, or paying, or change in the middle of it's duration.
this is also mentioned in the description, so there's two places it advises you, the max character age it will work to, is 35 days.

While it may seem easy to access this information for someone who is familiar with the game I being a complete newbie didn't have a clue how to find this. The point is new people in general won't have a clue about this unless told explicitly(hence the reason for my post).
I also spent time trying to find a reference on how this worked during my trial period with no luck. Is it possible to view an item in game when you don't own the item? If so please tell me how to do that. I also wasn't able to find any specifics on the web, there doesn't seem to be any good definitive website for viewing in game items that I can find. The item is not listed in EVEMon.

Type the name of the item (partial works), highlight what you typed, right click, Autolink -> Item Type. --- ôThere is a powerful tension in our relationship to technology. We are excited by egalitarianism and anonymity, but we constantly fight for our identity.ö |
