I've been following all the faction killboards for a week now, draketrain seems to be doing the best job. I'm pretty certain I will apply to them after I've trained my skills a bit further. I'd love to hear some more info about those guys, so if someone could post info I'd be really grateful

I might not be overtly objective, but I will try to lay out some pros and a contra as regards draketrain on a general level without a too comparative take towards other FW corps;
+ experienced & enthusiastic FCs able to factor in the relevant issues affecting any engagement (be it game mechanics or, say, the impacts of lag) systematic fleet setups (never depend on anyone's fail fit) that evolve and change (now stop the rofl yah wanna-be besserwissers, they do) dedicated support pilots, even ones who do not whine about not getting into killmails easy-to-join; trust or trustworthyness cannot be proven anyway the best reimbursement policy for fleet op losses on record
- on the short-term, inability to fly a (decently fitted) drake might make one feel a bit misplaced - but things are evolving (and the drake is a short read) Time zone issues especially as regards the US or Asian/Oseanian TZs. The occasional Finnish you read/hear on comms
Oh almost forgot, it is a rather Finnish thing to do - replacing 'frsn' with 'fron' instead of 'fraan' A thread a day keeps podkillers at bay |

Very good at what they do, Damar is an ass (as you can probably deduce from his forum antics) but I guess he's nice to people on his side.

Ok, i have a question about FW, and i don't want to create a topic for that.
Is there an on/off system with FW? I have read the guides, however, it feels like if you start to play FW for months with your caracter, you won't be able to go in other faction high sec space anymore?
What if after 2 years,(or 2 months) you want to get back to normal life? what are your options? farming standings to be stable again with other factions?
I am affraid i may be stuck after playing FW, from what i have read, FW looks like a non flexible way to play, especially if you can not go back to normal standing state.
By on/off, i am referring to the Star Wars Galaxies faction system which was quite handy.
Thank you for your responses Hya! |

Don't engage in pve (fw missions, fw plexes) and your standings will not budge.

Don't engage in pve (fw missions, fw plexes) and your standings will not budge.
The only standings hit you will take from PvP is if you pod a member of the default FW corp (State Pro, FDU, etc..), you will be slapped with a -75% hit to that corp. However, this is only to that corp, NOT faction.
As Chatgris mentioned, the killing of enemy NPC's in FW missions and plexes are what erode your faction standings. |

Nope - no minimum period at all. Come and go as you please. If you join FW indivdually via the "enlist" option - you will be placed into the default FW Corp. Or, you can join a corp that is already in FW.
Also, realize that once you do join FW...you will then be attacked by the NPC Navy of the enemy factions when you enter their hi-sec (severity is based on system sec status, i.e. .5 is not so bad but .8 and up hurts - fast). So, if you have anything in other faction's hi-sec, move what you need before you join (or stage for hi-sec raids :P). |

22BRDU were a class act.
Thanks. I hope we can live up to our past reputation. In truth there is no best FW Corporation. There are many great ones but each had/has a different style and you have to look at what suits yours.
FOOM the best of the Gallente. High SP, good tactics, they had carriers back when BSes were uncommon in FWar.
QCats. Kind of like the Gallente version of the 22nd. Our nemesis and our most respected rivals. Honestly I think there were just a wee bit better than us.
Space Perverts. Crazy guys. Rubbed more than a few people the wrong way including us, but they were damn good at what they did. Probably the first guys to master FW mechanics.
Shadows of the Federation. I'm not sure if you guys were around when we were in FW the first time but you chaps def seem to be top dogs in the Gallente Militia today.
There are lots of other good corps too many to remember.
My test for whether a corp is truly great is if they are respected by their enemies.
