Hello there,
I was wanting to spidertank a sin"sentries assigned" and a redeemer"drones assigned too from the sin" to do complexes/escalations! the reason of using black ops is when escalations are miles away and to just too bypass gatecamps if there are any and a faster way home!
of course we are talking about 0.0 complexes/escalations!
anyone have good fittings for this idea?

Good question. Wish I had an answer.

Blackops ships cant use covert ops cloaks. (this should be stickied)
Therefore, using blackops ships wont offer more protection from camps then using any old BS.

I think his idea was to go there in a stealth bomber and light a covert cyno, or to light a standard cyno with some t1 frigate and jump to it with the black ops.
This is not a bad idea when you live in an area with a poor jump bridge system/high pewpew activity.
Good luck with it though, depending on rating and faction you are doing it against you might find yourself with 2 dead black ops, especially if you do not know all of the aggro triggers.

Yes it will, he can jump into the system using a cyno, no need to go through any gates.

As I understand it, they have stealth bomber style cloaking. Even if we ignore covert jump, they're several times faster than a normal bs when cloaked. Meaning you can align while cloaked and have a much better chance of getting out of bubbles (or getting to the gate) before you're decloaked.

SO you send out a covops scanning boat with a cyno fitted.
Once the covops finds a 10/10, cyno in a fleet of black ops pwnmobiles to farm the 10/10. Then cyno back home with phat leewts.
Sounds cool.
I don't get why your asking how to fit the ships...Fitting should be simple enough.

I heard Tech 3's can tank them and their Cov Op's Sub only effests their DPS.
Why not just bridge one in then have the Sentry Sin do DPS.

Not sure its a good option seeing how black ops are pre nerfed in many ways fitting wise, tank, ect

The Black ops ship, will not have to go through any gate between systems.

Explain please, i dont know what pre nerfed is suppose to mean. It can do everything the BS can and it doesnt have to travel through gate camps, how is this not a good option ?

He means that considering they're a T2 BS you'd expect them to be inherently stronger (tank/dps etc) than their T1 counterpart - they're not.

Black ops can't tank too well... I'm pretty sure that most 10/10s will pop them when you get aggro wrong. They also have no jump range. You will need more then 1 cyno for like 2-3 gate jumps.
Why don't you do what everyone else does and have a heavily tanked T3 with nullifier and cov op config to scout ahead and tank the plex, and then have a marauder or something with a cloak fitted in a heavy dps+support configuration follow.
The T3 can easily have deadspace mods for tanking unless your an idiot. Even if you fly reckless the cov ops + nullifier makes you almost impossible to catch. Only ways these die is to a gatecamp that's specifically set up to catch them, or pilot error. And since it ignores bubbles you can scout gates, which makes loosing one plain pilot's error. If you have intel + scout it's pretty damn difficult to put your dps boat in a situation it doesn't need to be in. - This one time, at gate camp, I shot a shuttle... |

Black Ops ships move faster when cloaked, can jump to any cyno, and can create a covert ops bridge to a cyno. Black Ops ships are thus "better" than their T1 counterparts. You don't always have to measure "better" in terms of "can tank more" or "can pew pew more".
It's worth noting that we cannot have drones deployed while being cloaked. The pilot must either retrieve or abandon the drones in order to cloak, and the pilot must drop the cloak before the ship can deploy drones.
