My argument here is that each class of vessel has a big or little brother But the dread which is meant to be the big brother to the battleship has little or no relationship to the battleship in relation to ability and usability.
A battleship can be used to PVE, PVP, hurt or kill pos, support other craft, explore, rat, etc. the dread can .... hurt or kill pos, its not that good at anything else. A carrier can do most of the things other ships do.
I WILL MAKE A POINT HERE... this has nothing to do with super caps so dont mention them
What i would like to see is the Dread re-modeled into a super battleship that has the ability to do the same types of jobs as a battleship. This could be done by allowing sub-systems to be fitted to the capital hull. Nowhere as many as can fit a T3 cruiser but maybe 1 or 2 capital sub-systems allowing customization of the hull for a purpose.

Perhaps in place of seige module you could fit a "tracking module" allowing you the chance to hit smaller ships. At a distance of course. Perhaps that slot could be a place for this rather then subsystems.

It would give a bit of balance to the dreads as atm there not that usefull , "anything dread can to Sc can do better"
you could even make it a script for the seige module

very nice idea! yeah some sort of tracking seige module! something along the lines of being able to jump to empire, increase the agility and speed etc... but either fit that or a seige mod.

Maybe nerf dread down in total damage but reduce their penalty to hit smaller ships? In addition why is there no super version of the dread between dreads and titans? If dreads had their own big brother that is the equivalent to the super carrier maybe the smaller versions would be fine with only being good against carriers and battleships without sieging? I dont have any idea of how I would fix the dread other than I would like to see a big brother to it in the same manner that carrers have super carriers.

Just unnerf dread tracking while in siege. They're already anchored in place, consuming stront, and unable to receive remote assistance while still being vulnerable to neuts. IMO they're gimp enough. Buff their HP. Vastly increase their tracking to at least be able to apply their DPS to battleships. Their tracking is so low right now that they have a hard time hitting even carriers. Amazingly enough, carriers DO move. They won't set any speed records, but they're still in motion. Dreads can only hit stationary targets. Fix that and give them a little more HP and they'll be perfect.
