I don't know how much of this has been discussed before, so I'm just going to speak my mind.
I think the process of probing could use a little more streamlining. I spend on average 2-6 hours a day probing, and I'm suffering from carpal tunnel as a result of being on a computer all day long between work and home. For this reason, anything that makes probing easier for me, would be a big deal in my book.
First of all, I know it's great that you can resize all of your probes at once, and move them all as a group, but I wish there was a way to move them relative to eachother. I personally use a sort of pyramid layout when I am doing a standard 4 probe scan. I make a triangle and put the 4th in the very middle. All on the same plane. Then I scan, shrink my probes down a step (or two if I am in my clone with scanning implants), move the probes at the points of the triangle in, and repeat. This means moving the probes as a whole, resizing as a whole, and then moving 3 of them one at a time relative to the center. If this process could be streamlined a bit I (and my wrist) would be very happy. Ideally I would like to see it possible to just shrink my entire pyramid without having to reposition the probes so I still get the same overlap.
The second point I have to make is this: You know how once you have something to 100% it stays there, even after you move your probes away to scan something else? Why can't partial results linger as well? Say for example, I come into a system, drop my 4 probes and I find 2 sigs in one cluster, an anomaly in another, and say 3 more sigs in another cluster. So I already have an idea of where they are, but it's up to me to remember where they all are, because as soon as I begin to pin one, the other hits disappear completely. I wish they wouldn't.
And finally, I would like to beg CCP to change signature ID's back so that each person sees the same one. It's a lot easier to say "I went through the wormhole with the signature LOL-123" instead of "I went through a wormhole, if you warp to planet 5 and then look at the sun, it is sort of up and to the left, almost in line with planet 1". I'm not even sure why they felt it was necessary to change this in the first place.

Bad idea, probing is already far easier then it was pre-apoc. You actually had to drop probes off at a planet then warp to each and every deviation result. Took far longer and it was even possible to mission in lowsec as deadspace made it even more difficult. CCP changes it, lowsec population drops, basement rats complain and rinse repeat because nothing is ever perfect. If scanning exagerbates the problem, your best off not scanning if it makes your wrist hurts. I understand that making things easier is nice and all, but I already have enough of a problem dealing with ninja rats in my mission space sometimes .

Then why not just remove all of the convenience and force players to move and resize each probe individually as well? The determined players will still find you. It may take them an extra 30 seconds and cause even more pain in their wrists, but they will still find you. I am just asking them to consider simplifying one of the aspects of probing that I find to be more painful than others. ;)

Riiiighht. I don't think the problem is probing mechanics. I think it's more of an issue with your level of common sense.

You're probably right. But it really got me thinking about how it all works, so I guess I had a choice. I could post up and hope they listen, or I could not post up and never know if it would have helped. /me waits and sees....
