If I do it in Loki, what are the chances someone will probe me gank? :D Having almost 30 sensor str and 100 signature, will it be hard to probe me or something?
edit: the fit is pure for missions and mods with sensor str increase are not in the plans. 123 |

30 sensor strength and 100 signature makes you about as difficult to probe as a t1 frigate. It will take a minute for a typical pirate prober to find you. But you're over thinking it really. Run missions in blue systems. If you're the ultimate scumbag in eve and everyone hates you, go claim one of the hundreds of completely uninhabited low sec systems for yourself.
Thus far you shall read, but no further; for this is my sig. |

30+ km's away from warpin points, watching local, frequently hitting directional scanner for combat probes, staying alert every second, a couple of good out-of-line safe spots, and a fast-aligning ship (you have one). That's all you'll need.

Depending where you are, you only need to check local, intel and hit the directional scanner. If you do that you should already be out of harms way when red enter the system and if they just log on...you should already be aligned to warp. In time you will learn who to fear who not (mission probers). In the end, it's not THAT dangerous, but if you think loosing a ship is too much in any scenario, then low sec isn't for you. You will loose ships, but it's not a automatic death field. The most dangerous parts of low sec are the entry points to null and high sec. Usually missioning doesn't happen in those, but a few jumps from them.
Don't fly a ship you can't afford to loose.

rules for low sec mission running (i have 2+ years of experiance and did it when there was no warp to 0 :) )
nr1. DO NOT mission near high sec entry or 0.0 entry. this si where most of the traffic is.. inc pirats.
nr2. Use your scanner. dont have it set to max range tho... set it to an acceptable range (i usually use 250m km or 750m km)
3rd. know your surroundings and who lives there. check every new char that enters local. what crop are they in, have u seen them or their corp before etc. SEC status is irrelavant because anyone can start ganking.. they dont have to be -5 or below.
4th. allways move away from the spot you land inside a mission.
if you have alt.. use it at the entrace of your mission to keep an eye (cloaker)
Flag potential "gankers" with standings. if its a good mission system there might be mission runners there who have been there longer and can tell you who to look out for.
iv ran low sec missions in Aschee (quite pirate happy place) and in minni low sec. i used ravens, command ships and the latest was a faction fit machariel. got probed out quite a few times but due to allways using an AB i was never at the land in spot. have only lost 1 raven in low sec missions to pirates. and that was couse i was not paying attention.
ofc u can make ur locki fit into unprobable one but the dmg and tank will suffer alot. better to use ur brain and paranoia :D ---------------------------------- Fighting for something

Thanks for the info! Damn, and I just wanted to do missions in 0.5 where 0.4 nearby. Looks like it's better to do missions in low sec.
Guess I will have a dilemma doing things in low sec or not. 123 |

if u want to do missions in relative peace then yes.. finding a system that is surrounded by low sec atleast 3 or more jumps is good. less traffic and less pirates (but you WILL get them.. as its a system with agents... most decent pirats know to look out for such things).
the deepest low i have been in was i think 8 or so jumps from nearest high and it was quite peacful.. rarely any pirats made it that far and if they did locals usualy trapped em in as there was only one way in and out :P ---------------------------------- Fighting for something

I was thinking similar ships for L5's, but then i realised if someone wants to gank you, they will do anyway.
So why not do L5's in cheap ships that would be no real financial loss if you did get ganked?
For L5's you'll need at least 2 ships anyway. Otherwise, a regular maelstrom/raven/dominix would be more than adequate

It's not that big deal. You just have to pay attention to the signs and know when and wehere to GTFO. That would propbably take some time to learn but it becomes second nature.

You can use an active shield/speed/sig tank setup and still have four low slots left for gyro's/te's that will do every level 4 (that I get anyways) in a very reasonable time. |

you can get a mission able low sec loki but the issue is that you loose dps because you cant use drones and the range is not the best but it is doable
tengu is the best for that kinda thing
