Double clicking an extractor starts surveying (short-cut for clicking on the extractor and then clicking on the survey button).
Double clicking a line in the survey result window installs the seletced cycle (short-cut for clicking on the line and then clicking the install button).
I don't know if that's a new feature since patch but I just discovered it and I'm happy to replace 4 single clicks + 3 mouse moves by 2 double clicks + 1 mouse move. I just wanted to share my temporary exaltation!

Actually you've been able to double-click since the beginning (I've been doing it since early June). Only thing that has apparently changed with the recent patch is that the time it for the "survey" has been reduced. Oh and the survey box has a darker background so it stands out better against the backdrop of some planets, and the first extractor you survey/set extraction rate on turns yellow.

Indeed, the double click is win. Also, i hear for some programmable mice, you can set one of its buttons to double-click. Seems like it would make my life a lot easier, but alas, i dont have one!

Double-clicking a destination will also set the route. So when setting up those extractors in the first place, you can select the output, click "set route", then double-click the destination.

Technically, you can double-click on the item in the product tab and it will go into create new route mode so you don't have to click the product then click the create new route button.
Lucky for me I have a programmable mouse. 1 click on extractor, 1 click on desired extraction rate, 1 click on the product (only if not routed already), and 1 click on the structure to route to (if not already routed).

Actually, this morning I noticed that every extractor that's been reset turns yellow. So it's no longer limited to the first one only any more. This is helpful because if you're extractors are layed out without any logic, you'll know which ones you've missed resetting as they won't be yellow.
Anyone else see this?
P.I. is getting slightly better.
Now if they just let us reset all extractors in one click somehow............... ____________________

that was a feature before the patch. And i too have made a very important discovery : at a local store i have found a mouse that actually has a button that sends a double click when pressed :) so its just one click for me

The one button double click mouse has been around for ages. What will you do when CCP allows a single click feature that resets all your extractors at once? The store will not give you a refund on your uber-mouse! What will you do then!? Where will you use it?! ____________________

That doesn't mean that everyone automatically knows.
CCP's user documentation is not up to date.
Originally by: Zeerover It's always been like this...
Exactly.
In fact the fact that the user documentation lags a long way behind the feature set leads some users to display a form of elitism when other players try sharing some newly found feature of the game with other players.

Yes! I really love this new feature, coupled with the shorter scan times. Makes it a bit less tedious to maintain the 11 planets I run.

You can also quickly create links between places by control-clicking a building. It'll open link creation starting from that building.

Or no clicks......
Set the mouse clicks option in the Accessiblity control panel and the + on the num keypad gives a double click.
Just move the mouse ove the spot and hit +

EXCELLENT!! Thank you. Didn't know about that one. I've been using the double-clicks for all the scanning and routing but creating links was always a major pain.
