I've just tried to log in to my Eve online this morning, but I've ran in to a problem that seemingly won't even let me get past the login screen. Every time I enter my details and hit login, my PC instantly powers down before I even see the connecting screen.
Nothing has changed since I played Eve without issues (yesterday); no hardware or software changes, and this problem is only occuring with the Eve client. I saw a rather large thread with many people suffering from the same issue, but that thread was over 2 years old and it was discussing the problems Vista has with some other software. None of the possible fixes have had any effect.
I'm running Windows 7 64bit with an Nvidia 8800GTX card, and a Speedlink soundcard.

Edited by: Ergo Stareaver on 03/10/2010 09:07:32 Same here, I am running Windows XP Media Centre Edition.
With the latest patch I am now blue screening with error Stop 0+0000003F at the Aquiring Bulk Data stage...
Never had a problem before patch...

Cleared Settings and Cache folders, reattempted login and same result.
PC powers down with a blue screen at 44/46 on the Bulk Data popup, and gives Stop Error 0x0000003F or NO_MORE_SYSTEM_PTES
The Stop 0x3F message indicates one or more of the following problems:
ò The system Page Table Entries (PTEs) are depleted or fragmented due to the system performing a large number of input/output (I/O) actions. ò A faulty device driver is not managing memory properly. ò An application, such as a backup program, is improperly allocating large amounts of kernel memory.

This issue isn't the same as the OP's (which sounds to me like either his gfx card is dying or his PSU).
Have you tried updating your drivers? - for everything, but sound and gfx ones would be the first candidates. ===================================== It smells of spoon! ===================================== |

Seems pretty similar to me , also please note he says nothing has changed with his setup since yesterday, and same with me before the patch I could play just fine.

Seems it is my PSU dying. Sorry for not replying earlier but I've been troubleshooting and pinned it down to either my PSU saying a not-so-fond farewell to the world or my PSU is simply being tasked beyond it's capability by something. It took a while longer for the issue to occur while using other applications so first impressions lead me to believe it was an issue with the Eve client, as it simply didn't happen when I left my computer idle.
Starting up the client seems to be causing my graphics card to suck up a lot of extra power from the PSU or something, but I'm not entirely sure how the power load components work in those curcumstances. I don't think your problem is the same as mine Ergo Stareaver, so you're on your own there sorry dude!
