I guess CCP forgot the golden rule: if it ain't broken, don't fix it
Seriously though, I'd been really surprised if there wasn't any bugs after you rewrite some parts of the code. Although the bugs are annoying, hopefully they'll be fixed in a few days. I don't have much time to play this weekend anyway so they don't bother that much. If the bugs still exist next week, well that's another thing
Hopefully this trouble with UI is worth it in the long run...

ccp is know for not following golden rules... one example is all ready posted above. another example: those who have the gold, make the rules. Well we p2p and they still don't lesson to us.

Originally by: Nadarius Chrome A feedback thread but without listing problems? That'd be a very small thread.
I will have to disagree respectfully. You can still give feedback such as:
"If I was not affected by this mess, I would be having the time of my life laughing at the people who are."
or
"If you intend to fix and improve the UI any further, wouldn't it be easier to simply delete it entirely?"
On a more serious note: I do feel bad for all the Devs spending their time working on this patch, just to have it turn out this way. But if you do not fix problems that already persisted on SiSi, and then still deploy the patch to Tranquility.. not sure what you expect to happen, really.

Feedback:
This patch is an utter mess. You've broken so much UI functionality, I don't even know where to begin. The persistence of window sizes and stacking has always been patchy at best, now it's completely broken.
The new appending of spaces and zeros to values in dialogue boxes is baffling. Previously functioning sounds are now nonexistent, or incorrect.
I'm astounded that you would release such a clearly faulty patch. At what point did you determine that this was acceptable for release?

UI is -slower( 2 seconds for the fitting window to show up? RLY?) -buggy (windows dont remember whats going on, clicking something on one stacked window makes it go to the background) -lacks sounds (probly some lookup table for sound effects got shifted? as more than one sound is wrong)

*Module icons in the ship fitting screen are abnormally large.
*Stations appear in the overview that don't exist in the system
*Same stations appear doubled and highlighted yellow in the overview.
*Font in character choice page after login is somehow different?
*Pinned windows are jumping around some after docking in station.

I just ran into a lot of UI issues while creating this character. Most of the issues were on the character creation screen. Also, the first pass at making this character I was not allowed to select any clothing at all, and the character was butt naked! But it crashed when I tried to finalize it.

CCP for once I am impressed. I run 10 planets across 2 chars producing POS Fuels. Previously the time taken to restart all the extractors every day across all 10 planets was a good 20-30 minutes a day of just clicking, clicking, clicking, clicking, clicking, clicking..... you get the picture.
The survey cycle time of extractors is now taking about 1/3rd to 1/2 (at the most) time to cycle before you can select your extractor cycle, which already has cut in half the time it takes me to restart all the extractors across all 190 planets.
Still looking forward to the extractor control unit in Incursion, but well down for pushing this patch out in the meantime, the difference in the time taken is defintely appreciated and adds up a lot over the days.

Sorry CCP but this patch is an epic fail. I have to agree with all the other people. One thing i have to add, the new german translation sounds like you translated it with google translater. Very bad job guys :(. Pls look for people who can speak german. I hope you fix all the problems soon.
Best regards Kweear

I am running a few more planets than that, and am pleased that it takes less time to cycle, but I am curious as to why it reset all my planets(well, most of them) to the same time? I wouldn't really mind, except for I'm running quite a few planets, and with advanced CC's that's like... 15 extractors per planet. I had them cycled(for the most part) so about a third of them expired every day, some in the morning, most in at night. Now, with them all reset to one of two common times... well... that's gonna be quite a PITA to do and get the cycles back in place. I will admit to being not the most diligent in doing them, so sometimes I mess them up myself, but this was not one of those cases. Contrarily, I'd just got most of them resorted... and now their all uniform again :(.
I can haz cookie for Government interference in my facility production? :(

How do you consistantly **** up stupid things with the simpliest of patches? In the first 40 minutes I was on-line I filed 8 bug reports. I'm up to 12 now and every one of them is an idiotic bug - many of them are bugs that you introduced years ago and seem to have reinvented.
Have you heard of quality assurance? Perhaps you remember somebody giving a presentation about "excellence". Or is all of that supposed to happen 18 months from now?

"Epic fail" are the only two words that come to mind for this patch , the only thing this patch has done is **** me the **** off, if that was the objective for this patch , well then it's been 100% effective

Broken stuff and changed / undocumented items that do not quite make sense:
1) Fleet finder window always resizes to a default(?) size when re-opened. User changes to the window size are not retained.
2) Rat loot window does not remember user sizing or location.
3) Linked character names, items and system names are now underlined creating a less visually friendly text chat. Suggestion: remove that damn underlining.
4) ISK value column alignment and width change in the wallet (and market?).
Also and as others have reported, the 'align to bookmark' and improved PI performance elements are most welcome. Why not include those positive changes in the patch notes? The PI language in the patch notes doesn't even come close to describing the performance gain / time saved.
What other changes to the client and server were made that remain publicly undocumented by CCP?
I find it odd that CCP doesn't include marketable(even if only for good vibes in the community) and positive 'stuff' in their patch notes.
Oh, and as far as using the Test Server for a pre-release code review and bug creation resource, that server is a very poor medium for user acceptance testing. Not only is the back-end hardware not identical or an approximate of the live environment, but the code may contain stuff never intended to go onto the live server. Big waste of time testing against both a code base and an environment that is not representative of what is intended to be made public.

Well done on the upgrade of the planetairy stuff. Instaid of 2 minutes per planet i now only spend 0.5 minutes per planet on managing things. Its a LOT faster.

WORST. PATCH. EVER.
Seems like CCP is a bunch of totally incompetent PHP developers trying to make MMO using Python. CCP, your developers suck, your QA sucks, and your management sucks a lot. This is my feedback. -- I am the devil and I am here to do the devil's work. |

Here's my general feedback why not fix the bugs reported before making a patch or if a 'patch' is needed for 'stealth' things they won't ever tell us or admit to do those and don't jam more half baked 'defectively designed' updates on us.
If you can't do something right hold off, this is a 'patch' it isn't some stupid expansion CCP hyped up that 'has' to be delivered wait until it is 'right' then drop it on us instead of continuing the 'fix it later' BS that we get all the time.
PS: I love how so many 'bugs' are known to CCP yet they do nothing to fix them before pushing patches/expansions on us then ask us to submit more bug reports as if the ones they got weren't good enough. I might as well start writing letters about them then burning them in my yard, I think it would accomplish the same thing which is to make the writers feel 'better'.
