Simple question, when decommissioning a CC on a planet you lose anything in storage on the planet, but I'm unsure if this also applies to what is in the customs office for that planet. I went to test this on Sisi but it appears customs offices currently don't exist there.. and I don't feel like doing a live test with millions of worth of product sitting in a customs office, so I'm wondering if anyone else has tested this situation out and knows if you lose whats in the customs office or not.
I really want to setup a new location without losing goods at the old location's customs office. The logistics of picking up said goods is.. problematic.. at the moment, which is why I'm hoping I can just leave them there for a bit and pick them up later.

It does not apply to the Customs Office.
Items stored there are retained until you physically remove them.
I know this for a fact as I did it a couple of days ago myself when upgrading a CC on a planet and restoring all the previous resources via the Customs Office.

I was switching planets and did just that. It was only a short time frame but the goods were there even though I got rid of the CC before reaching the customs office. Not sure how long they will stick around but they don't vanish with the CC.

The only thing I would add that if you are the only person on planet and you dicomision your CC the custom office goes poof as well :P

The Customs Office doesn't belong to any one player.
The first person to construct a Launchpad, spawns the Office. But that's only because there's no need for one before then.
From that point on, any more players who construct Launchpads, will use the same Office. So it is public property. It exists independent of the players colonies, and contents will remain so long as the Office remains.
As stated, when the last player destroys their Pad, the Office is no longer needed and will despawn. -

So, let me check if I understand. Does this mean I could launch from my launchpad, and store my PI goods in the customs office for days or weeks, until I have the time to go around and collect them? Thus giving me an effective storage space for when my planet storage is full?
And can anyone take my PI goods? Or can only I see/take my own? --- Regular lotteries for all players running at http://evelink.servegame.org/igb/ |

Exactly. PI is Playerbased - No corp/alliance interaction directly.
You see your 20.000m¦ , someone else see just his 20.000m¦. Simple as that.
Unfortunatly this is the main problem with PI - When I want to have some free time (yeah shame on me that I like to fly away when I've some free day's) noone else can care my PI as long as I don't trust him enough to give away my username/PW...

first off, previous poster: account sharing is against the EULA. Now, you can use the customs office for indefinite storage of stuff, but you have to be in system, in space and uncloaked to export or import stuff. Second, it costs ISK to do it, so you should avoid bouncing your materials between the customs office and the planet. This is the biggest issue for producing p4 stuff on a large scale (cannot place enough p2 and p3 processors on one planet to feed a p4 24/7).

1. No one else can take your PI goods. 2. Yes, you can store your stuff in the customs office for as long as you like, BUT: 3. You need to be in-system to export to the customs office, so yes you can use it as storage space but it's not necessarily convenient to get it there. *** Wish list for PI:
*One-click input routing *Copy product, inputs & outputs in factories *Launchpad upgrades: twice the space, twice the cost, half the hassle! |

You can also use the customs offices to store 20k m^3 per planet per char of non-ice POS fuel. ___________ EVE is dying! Now for real! |
