I call it an Armor Plated Kestrel. It has 3369 EHP and theoretically 105 DPS with a Scrambler and a web. I used all the mids for propulsion and tackle so Armor was the only way to tank it.

Swap the MWD for an AB and this fit would have a LOT of suprise factor with the web and armor tanked. I would say AB especialy seeing the faction rockets, your range limits to HAVE to be in scram range, and a scram'd MWD is as good as an empty mid. with a low sig radius and an AB you would take minimal damage and with the web could still control range quite well. I like it, put it on BC and I'll come +1 it, haha
Actually if you swap out the mwd for an afterburner you can up the plate from 100mm to 200mm and EHP does go to 4173 but it ain't quick at a max of 755m/s, which is fine if you can get in range, that would be the trick though.

Please, he asks for a camping ship and ppl post frigates? The gate guns would one volley you the moment you went global. The Drake is where it's at. Passive shield tanked sitting on the gate at 0m ready to bump targets burning back. Its the best pirate gate camp ship. No need for RR. Unreliant on drones. Decent DPS.

Drake all the way, not only is it the best Caldari Pirate ship, its arguably one of the best (if not the best) BC in the game.

Blaster Falcon - the only blaster ship, not crippled by blaster-suckiness.

The Drake is one of a very few Caldari ships that can compete toe to toe with the identical-class ships of the other races. It might not be the best BC in game, but it is competetive with any while doing nothing poorly. If you want an advantage going into a frigate or cruiser or battleship fight, Caldari would be your last choice.

If you want 'not the Drake' and are prepared to mix in with a HAC/HIC gang, take a look at the Rook. It's a nice support ship, with a quite credible amount of firepower to it, and extended effective range.

Originally by: Mercie Orion if a rocket has an explosion radius of 20m and your sig radius is 60m you won't increase damage by making your sig 100m. the factor that effects the rockets is the explosion velocity. put a 1000m sig radius on a ship doing 2.5km/s and you'll still barely hit them. but bring that sig radius down to 35m, while slowing the ship down to 70m/s and you'll do full damage - resists.
What? No. Missiles don't work like this. Excess sig counters excess speed, but not vice versa. If you shot a rocket with 20 m explosion radius and 127.5 m/s explosion velocity at a 60 m sig target moving 700 m/s, you'll do about 2/3 damage. Paint the target's sig up to 100 m and you'll do almost full damage. Of course, the alternative of webbing the target also works, but that's not the point here.
This is why if a rocket hits a 1000 m sig target travelling at 2500 m/s it'll do full damage.

Originally by: Limdood 1) Caracal for anti-frig (make sure you run from anything else...oh wait, your only 2 lowslots are for damage mods or damage controls, not agility....oh well). Also, ummm, stay off gates with this.
2) Drake for killer dps inside 10km with HAMs....just hope you don't run into anything smart enough to stay at range....or so-so dps with HMLs, in which case hope things don't come close to use their higher dps on you...
3) Rook for jamming, warp disrupting, applying dps, etc. Just keep your eyes open as you can be killed quite easily if you don't pay attention and something warps in on top of you.
1) AML Caracal = 170+ dps to a small target. Ofc, you run from bigger targets as with any other small guns cruiser for that matter. If you wanna go on cruiser / bc shooting spree -> fit it with 5 x HAM and youre good to go, whatever rocks your boat
2) HAMs go up to 30 km (javelin ammo) on drake and Ill gladly risk my drake for opportunity to kill something that will kite me at 30 km whilst scrambling and webbing me so I dont run away, HML droned drake has 525 dps according to EFT, it thats meh, which ship is better in your oppinion
3) I agree - if you leave your ship afk in busy 0sec -> itll prolly get popped. Otherwise - its just as balanced as any other ship, with ECM jamming being the most powerful ewar IMO. At least most annoying if nothing else.
I.
