Hello MD
Ive been watching the price of CN invuln and Dread Guiristas Invuln field prices over the last couple of months. They have risen by a substantual amount (where ~300m now ~400m). Does anyone know why these prices are continuing to rise and if/when they may be going down again. It seems the price of the Dread Guiristas Fields are always a notch above CN invulns even though they are exactly the same. Does anyone know why this is too?
Cheers for reading Alec

One used to be much more frequently a loot drop, the other used to be much more frequently a LP shop reward, and overall, they tend to have very similar prices. Any one of those things could have changed, be it the ratio between how much of a drop vs how much of a LP purchase each of them is, or maybe the demand changed for some reason (can't think why, but you never know), or maybe the value of a LP has been steadily drifting, maybe the drop rates have changed, maybe, maybe, maybe.
Either way, a 33% price change is nothing unusual for faction gear. You don't see it very often, but you see it often enough to not really be surprised even if nothing major has changed other than, say, a small portion of the "usual farmers" moving on to something else.

The first one's free, but after this you have to do your own research, all right partner?
Faction Invulnerability Fields
Why are they in demand? In general, faction invuls are always in demand for PVE applications. The extra % resists allows mission runners and plexers to fit a lighter boosted tank (and often omit the obligatory photon hardener), and thus more damage mods in the lows and eccms in the mids where capacitor modules would previously have been.
Why are they in demand right now? Hardcore PVE in general is shifting towards low and nullsec. This requires tengus with tight fits.
Why isn't supply keeping up? Basically, there are two sources for the invuls. The first is mission runners cashing in LP. The CN invuls aren't really worth it when they're selling for less than 400 though (hence the oscillations). The second source is the NC [and to a lesser extent entities like ROL].
Did you know that RZR and RAWR and WN and CO2 and ACME have all recently been less present in the North for various reasons?
I'm evading your question, because a very good answer on the forums would be a bad idea. With a little thought and more research, you can fill in all the gaps.

C/N Invulns are underpriced for what they cost. They require so many tags, and loyalty points that in order for them to be as good of isk/lp as other items they should realistically be in the 450 mil range.

A more logical explanation to me is that new players are shifting focus from PI to mission running. They've earned some isk with PI and starting to upgrade now. This makes also sense if you realize there was a spike in demand for implants, then m4 gear and now faction stuff.
