Edited by: Mazzarins Demise on 02/08/2010 18:33:07 Been running Caldari Navy missions for the past week or so, trying to get 8.00 standing so I can put a jump clone in Jita. For some reason though, whenever I get a storyline mission, it always goes to some other corporation called Prompt Delivery.
For my 3rd storyline, I get the long mission chain called "Kidnappers Strike". Pretty cool one and the last mission has Battleships and such.
Upon completion, I get a VERY nice 25% corp standing increase...for Prompt Delivery. Urgh.
So why am I not getting storyline missions from Caldari Navy? That standing buff would have been very nice indeed. _________________________________________ Support the "Seed Primae on the market and ORE LP Stores" proposal! Click here |

Allright, agents all "Feed" into particular storyline agents in a region. Its consistant, so, for the most part, all the Caldari Corp agents feed to the same, closest Caldari Storyline agent in the region. If you do Gallente, youll get kicked to the nearest gallente storyline agent, regardless of the agent.
Now you have a couple of really cool choices at this point. Adjust your Standard Mission agent to one that feeds into a story agent you want. Check the Agent Locator to figure out what works best for you. Another way to do is is NOT to do the first storyline mission and keep running agents. The next storyline agent you get kicked out pushes to another storyline agent, as one agent wont hand out two back to back (Unless its a series of missions).
If your purpose is JUST to get a jump clone or get your overall Caldari Navy Faction standings up, grab a hauler and start doing missions for the agents in Prompt Delivery. You will be able to do level III's and Level IV's faster than if you were doing combat missions... More missions = more storylines = bigger standings gains more often that what you could manage combat wise. You allready have the starter kicker going... just double stack it. =)

1) Use eve agents to find caldari navy storyline agents. 2) Then, use eve agents to find CN Lv 4 agents in the same system the the storyline agents.
If failed 3) Find Caldari navy lv 4 agents which are close by to the storyline agent (requires dotlan+patience)
Good luck

You dont need 8.00 for a jump clone in Jita
Simply join estel, create a clone nearby and fly it into jita
Linkage
It will save you a heap of time grinding missions

àand even if you choose to go the grinding route, any corp will do. You're getting a jump clone, not a medical clone ù it can be moved around and placed wherever you like it. In fact, that's the whole point of having one. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

Hold on there. Any corp whose stations have medical facilities. Not all corps have medical facility in their stations, and without them you cannot CREATE the jump clone in the first place.

correct me if I'm wrong. But you need a corp standing of 8.0. You can get that by doing normal missions for a corp right?? So while doing the storlyline missons for the proper corp might speeds up the process it is not required to egt your standings up to 8.0 isnt it??
Once you get to lvl 4 missions it shoudlnt take that long to get up your standings anymore.

Train Connections skill.
While doing the regular mission grind, keep track of amount of missions completed by right click and select 'Show Transactions' on the Corporation in your Character sheet - Standings - Liked By - Corporations.
After completing 15 missions, locate an agent with the same level in the same corp that is near a storyline agent of that corp. Complete the 16th mission and the storyline mission offer will be from the same corp.
After completing the storyline, go back to original agent for another 15 missions, travel back to the one agent located near the storyline agent and complete the one mission, get storyline from same corporation, etc.

There's no need to entirely switch agent. Just note down how many missions you have done since your last storyline. When you complete #15, move to an L4 agent close to a CN Storyline agent and run your 16th mission with him / her / it. Potential agents are located at:
Kakakela VI - Moon 15 - Caldari Navy Assembly Plant Oisio V - Moon 1 - Caldari Navy Assembly Plant
Once you've completed the 16th mission, the storyline agent in the station will offer you a Level 4 storyline mission for Caldari Navy, thus the corporate standings boost you get will be for the Caldari Navy. Then, move back to your regular agent.

Some very good advice going on in this thread. Now let me see if I can muck it up!
Caldari Navy is a decent place to have positive standings for various reasons. However, what you may not know is that the size of the corporation influences how quickly you gain standings.
Corporations can be anywhere from tiny (School of Applied Knowledge) to huge (Caldari Navy)
Doing missions for a smaller corporation will make the grind faster than doing them for a huge one.
If your only reason for grinding standing is jump clones you may want to take this into consideration.
Or use Estel's service.

I've done L4 missions for all 5 factions. (I was grinding standings after discovering they were almost all negative due to shooting faction ships).
There is some minor variability in the rate of your individual standings gain for a given mission. In my experience it is based almost entirely on agent level & quality (modified by your skills to be effective quality). Size of the corp does not affect how quickly I gained personal standings with NPC agent corps. The same mission with the any L4 Q13 ish agent gives the same percentage standings increase regardless of if its for Quafe, Astral Mining, a Tiny R&D corp, or the Huge Federation Navy.
You noticed that after completing the 16th mission you get a storyline mission from the closest agent (of the same faction) to the agent you just completed the mission for.
You can utilize this as a tool. So if you want standings for an R&D corp to run research missions you can likely find a storyline agent for the R&D corp. Then find a L4 agent (of the same faction) near that storyline agent that you have standings to access. Now you can have a healthy income still running your L4 missions and up your R&D corp standings quickly with L4 storyline missions (25% sometimes!) every 16 missions instead of grinding L1, L2, and L3 missions.

Now I can't say what you have experienced sir, but I can assure you that the size of an agent's corporation does influence how quickly you gain standing with the corporation. Since your post mucks up my flawless advice, I ran a couple of missions just to get some fresh numbers and avoid any confusion your post might cause the OP.
Mission: Stress Reliever (courier mission)
Agent 1:
Seloroki Raurisen Corporation: Hyasyoda Corporation (HUGE Corporation) Station: Airkio IX - Moon 1 - Hyasyoda Corporation Mineral Reserve System: Airkio (0.9) - Region: Lonetrek - Faction: Caldari State L2 Q19
Standing gain according to "Show Transactions" Journal: .2181%
Agent 2:
Hakken Mata Corporation: Top Down (MEDIUM Corporation) Station: Airkio VII - Top Down Factory System: Airkio (0.9) - Region: Lonetrek - Faction: Caldari State
L2 Q15
Standing gain according to Journal: .2966%
Care to explain this based on your theory?
Now the agent in the Huge corporation has more quality, they are both in the same system and the mission is the same. Both missions were completed on time. The mission done for the 1st agent was 2 jumps. The mission done for the 2nd agent was 1 jump.
When you try this comparing an agent in a Tiny corporation with an agent in a Hugh corporation the gap grows. It grows even more with kill missions, but I can not be arsed to go to prove more than this.
Check your character sheet m8. It's all in there. If you are not getting more standing gains from agents in smaller corporations maybe you should file a bug report or somesuch.

you should also mention that the smaller the corp, the more useless it is to have standing with them unless you're living your whole eve life in only a few systems. if you're not putting up a POS in hisec, looking for a permanent JC corp (so that you can keep creating JCs), trying to get R&D agents, or trying to get LP with a specific corp, grinding standings is pointless. |

A bit short sighted there mate.
There are benefits to climbing the ladder faster regardless of the size of the corp. Namely, faction standings.
On my first character I ran missions for a tiny corporation ( I did my research). I got to access higher level agents often faster than I could run the missions. I would do level 1-2 kill missions but do level 3-4 couriers when I was afking. Access to the higher level story lines meant I gained faction standing very fast even though I often had to get help from more experienced corp mates to finish them.
In fact it took me less than 3 months of playing the game to have access to every level 1- 4 agent in the Caldari faction, while most of my corp mates of the same age were still doing level 2 missions for some single large corporation like Caldari Navy exclusively.
By the time I had the skills to actually run level 4 kill missions solo, not only could I use ANY Caldari agent, I could use almost every level 3 Amarr agent.
I used that faction standing to access high level missions for every R&D corporation in the Caldari & Amarr factions. Now, I take my time using that character to level up my other characters.
tl;dl
Gaining standing faster means higher level agents faster. Higher level agents faster means more faction standings gain and access to better agents faction wide.
Jessamine had a guide somewhere here on the forums regarding faction standings. It was very useful to me. You should search for it on evesearch.
OP- sorry to derail your thread. I just hate letting mis-information go unchallenged.
