I see a SWG style ending going on here for EVE
Developers being brain dead and not doing what the players want.

Broken game - way too much latency / lag when systems over 650.

The lack of commitment from CCP to improve already poorly implemented features is disappointing. Not to mention the expectation of future features being jut as poorly thought out, and barely functional. Little hope of already released features being looked at again. PI in its current state is awful, and adds only frustration to the game.
What did we get with the Tyrannis:-
PI - To me a big disappointment over what I had expected. Click-fest on round icons from orbit (dot to dot puzzle, but less fun) . Why even bother releasing this. Eve gate - Never needed to used it. Plenty of other external e-mail, and calender apps out there why waste resources making another? To think they were going to call it COSMOS just proves past features are soon forgotten.
Graphic update - 1 new texture for a single ship
AlienFX - Flashy keyboard lights for a small percentage of Eve players. With all the bugs in the game needing looked at seemingly being ignored. Yet somehow managed to find the development, and QA time to implement in game!
And now CCP thinks it should to win an award for this?
IMHO Incarna is a test bed for WoD technology. Its implementation in Eve is an afterthought, and an excuse to take more developers from Eve. Even if Dust is the best X-box FPS game out. It will only have a shelf life of a few months given what has happened to every other FPS that has been released. Eve could be so much better if CCP would only focus its resources on improving the numerous currently implemented features, and fixing the bugs.
I have been playing eve since 2003, and up to a few years ago I would not think twice about voting for Eve. Given the current state of the game, its future over the next few years - No vote from me. CCP simply don't deserve it.

CCP Nathan: "the data does not seem to support that polished quality sells better than new features."
Simply put: CCP currently cares more for increased revenue rather than providing its current player base with a fully working product.

You have to giggle.
over 1100 replies and maybe about 10 of them positive, the only reply we have had from CCP was a smart ass comment from one of them.
CCP isn't it about time you told your member base what is going on, why there is so much lag in the game that was working fine pre dominion.
And give us a god damn time frame on a fix for this, and may be just maybe listen to your player base and polish this game up.
Give us the EvE you promote, that we see in the juicy video's you post, then add more content, we all want to feel excited logging in again, atm its a fancy chatter box.
what you say deal?

it realy anoyed me that they called it eve gate tbh the old intro movie showed how we all got to this galay via the wormhole named eve gate. hell the 1st time i ventured into low sec as a noob was to go to the system where its located and it was cool as **** and somehow felt realy earie and un-nerving. fast forward a few yrs I took n00bs out of the alliance i was in at the time to the eve gate for them it was a cool thing to see. for me it got them used to flying and fighting in low sec it was win win.
ask a noob what eve gate is now and they will tell you its a fail calander/ingame mail front end that most have only logged into once to turn the privacy settings ON!!!!.
CCP: destroying the game we love 1 nerf at a time.

Nope.
CCP, why do you hate us 0.0 players so much? We still bring in you guys bucket loads of money every single day, of every single week, of every single month, of every single year.
Fix your game, mmmkay?

we shouldnt try to ruin the game even more. some of us have invested seven years and thousands of hours into their position in the game. some manager is able to make this all worthless with a bad decision. thats scary and should open the eyes of many about the real value of the game.

CCP, you said you had fixing issues as nr. 1 priority, yet you released several new features last couple of months/years and kinda nothing got fixed.
No vote this time. Try again later.
And as Kotaku so greatly puts it:
With fans voting for everything from Battlefield 1943 to Age of Conan, thereÆs no way in hell EVE Online is winning the European Games Award for best online game.

I've been sending out tips on the story to every major site I can find. So far kotaku, MSN, and another site has published it.
Anyways, I'm off to play world of tanks

CCP will have nice mess monday morning when they come to work. Doubt with their system that anyone has heard about this feedback yet...
Also, the longer it takes for them to fabricate an answer, the worse the situation will get. So, I hope they've improved their logging system, because if they still can't see where the problem lies, I guess it might be goodbye for CCP.

Just here to add another +1 to the fix the outstanding issues before the game is worthy of best "game status" again
I was addicted to Eve for 4 years, the development cycyle in the last year has reduced my activity to the point where I don't even train skills. The losses to gameplay in the last year have been in no way matched by the 'shiny things' added. The 2 fanfest events I attended were punctuated by the core value that players like to "shoot people in the face" (Zulupark 2009), if the players can't do this Planetary Interaction can't make up for it. New features may draw new players - but what is the lifespan of a modern account, 4 months? 6 months? At what point will the new account numbers be insufficient to cover the loss of multiple account addicts (3 for myself + 1 buddy)
To all the people I've shot in Eve - take care of yourself To all the people who shot me - keep red and gf. Special thanks to all Tgrads past and present and to Vuk Lau - Vidimo Se! (in RL somewhere)
Must make sure my email accounts are set correctly so I can get the 5 day reactivation emails when things are fixed [bolded the part that is important to me]

The data seems to show that new features don't result in votes for game of the year, and polished quality might.

Ouch. Sorry CCP, I tried, but I think you lost a potential customer there.

Haha, Not a hope in hell of me voting for EvE. As soon as World of Tanks is out of beta I will cancel both my a/c's. EvE has gone stale, and the dev spin/bs is just wrong. I reckon the beancounters run CCP which is a pity, it WAS a really amazing game.

CCPs customer service and their established methods of "communicating" with their playerbase are beyond abysmal and have been for years.
The fact they haven't improved, and the game has been virtually abandoned other than to use as a testbed for WOD so we can iron out all the bugs for them... (You do like paying to be a beta tester.. don't you ?) speaks volumes about their attitudes.
The long term playerbase used to tolerate this as the game was worth it, but over time, the bitter vets club has grown both bigger, and much more intolerant of the abuse it used to happily endure... (We've been bent over and ceremonially ass-paddled for years with minimal complaint)
The CSM was created to put out the fire of the last great player uprising, and look how that turned out... Toothless, relatively pointless but has actually turned up some juicy and worthwhile material after a fair amount of time.
****ing in stations should never have been made a priority over anything else in EVE, but with WOD signed up to, a fair few people saw what was coming... And now it's biting CCP on the ass - I'd day "about time" but i'm almost 100% certain they will ignore most of what's been said, throw out a half-arsed attempt at a fix, then carry on as normal with thee lemmings (sorry, playerbase) left hanging.
These guys passed inept management 101 for sure.

Can't believe that this is still sticky. After 40+ pages one would think that CCP would figure out that you can't ask for votes from your player base when you already ignore the suggestions from the CSM that they voted for.
Just leave it sticky for the next 18 months plz, maybe I'll vote then.

CCP should read some books about failed companies with no effective system of working with feedback from customers and no desire to change things in services or in hiring policies and current staff. Such companies ignored issues, they made no changes, they innovated not, they went bankrupt.
