I had an account that i played on but stopped for about a year. In cant find the character now in the character search on my main account. Is it deleted. I also have a petition open to get my lost account info back.

So far, CCP has never deleted any character information.

You mean if its a non active account?
Supposedly not. I've had a second account that was inactive for about 1.5 years before I re-activated it.

I can't even remember my username/password from my very first account....he's probably deleted. From '06.

Just wondering since the other day i was trying to log into it on the EvE site and i think i tried one too many times and got locked out of the account. I have my petition open and have just sent in my account details. Hopefully ill be able to get it back (even though i still draw a blank on some of the account details.)
Also if characters were never deleted, shoudlnt you still be able to search for them even if the account is not currently active?

think its only trial accounts that are deleted,
if it was an upgraded normal account then it stays on the system
hence why you have people come back years later and carry on from where they left off
............

CCP have as a formal rule that all accounts are safe for 6 months. However CCP have till this date never deleted one account during its exsistence of 7 years or so. They have also told us if this will change they will inform us in due time. But I doubt CCP ever will. Characters take little if any serverspace at all.
Regarding your character: did you sell it or destroy it before you left? CCP do not delete single characters either so either your account has been compromised or you have done something about it which you have forgotten.

The accounts department will be able to assist you and provide any answers you may have regarding your account. If you can recall any additional information just update your petition.

Like several people said before, to this day, CCP has never deleted a single player character, not those on long-time expired accounts, even trial ones, and allegedly not even those on permabanned accounts.

How exactly were you trying to "search" for them anyway, if that account is still inactive ?
Because if it was active, you wouldn't say you were searching for them.
It is no longer possible to load the character list nor character sheets of characters on inactive accounts, hasn't been for quite a while now.
So it might just be a case of "didn't know you can't do that anymore" and the character resides just fine on your inactive account.
