Pirates are the ones getting scammed by Hulkwhatever. With only a few winners Im sure the organizers of this gankfest have the winners already selected. I would not be surprised if they build ships and have been stockpiling Hulks and Macs over the year. Then during Hulkwhatever week thier alts can kill as many as they want without risk. Their expenses would be minimal because these ships they kill would have no equipment and then wreck parts would be used to build more ships. What would be thier motive other than having a big laugh at the pirates expense? Selling hundreds of over priced ships and pulling off the biggest scam in EVE year after year.

Confirming its really cheap to lose tons of hulks just to win some prizes. Also its totally worth training hulk alts to do this to.

Edited by: Dirk Swan on 17/07/2010 11:23:44 Probably the one pulling this scam are miners and ship builders. Its not that expensive to build hulks if you produce the all the material. Also you would be compensated by being able to sell ships and ore at over inflated prices. I think the scam is great. Everyone thinks the scammers are pirates!

Confirming that those who partake in Hulkageddon do not in any way represent or portray the pirate community as a whole.
I also confirm that I detect a major amount of conspiracy theories sauced with paranoia. Please use tinfoil hat to counter such effects.
And PS, if Hulkageddon is a scam, then it is a grand one indeed. -

Ehrm ... so you are actualy stating that one of the subgroups in EVE that have a better understanding of the game and PVP, and at the core of a lot of scams, would be too stupid to figure this out if it where true ?

PROTIP: People in control of Exhumer production profit from the mass destruction, and thereby new sales, of Exhumers!
But us pirates, we do it for the lulz. And the prizes. But I want a pony. Prize pool has no ponies. iSad.

Edited by: Harrigan VonStudly on 17/07/2010 23:52:10 There are all kinds of accusations flying out there. The km's are fake, hulkageddon is a scam. We've seen them all. So let's pretend for a minute that hulkageddon is a giant scam and none of it is real. That it's a great big rip off of isk and prizes and it's all a set up.
There are people fleeting up and flying together having fun, laughs, and gathering tears having a ball. They are socially interacting with each other and playing the game all in the name of fun. There are scouting ops, ganking ops, and general all around camaraderie. Helicity performs a mountain of work and organizing that isn't required of anyone to bring a unique flare to the game and provide something that is not found in any other game.
And then there's ****ers such as the like of you. You sit in your hole of an npc corp and keep all to yourself hoping the whole world would just plant a flower in the end of every gun turret and play rainbow coalition warior huggie kissie bull****.
Hulkageddon is much more than what you **** heads make it out to be.

You just wait until you win some prizes and they're actually contracted to you at an easily and relatively safely-travelled-to station. You'll be so burdened with all this new stuff that you'll feel entirely cheated.

I detect a stealth troll. The OP is a miner that wants to complain about Hulkageddon but doesn't want to get flamed for being an angry carebear.

You'd make more isk scamming in hub systems with minimal weekly effort compared to your paranoid scheme.
