Extractors should work like moon mining. Select what you want, click apply. When cycle ends, cycle should auto-repeat.
Ok .. CCP wants us to login every few hours .. ok .. ok .. but at least let me click from the Science window , select a planet in the Science window and then click repeat previous survey/cycle for *ALL* extractors.
Even with only 4 planets, it takes hundreds of clicks to keep things working = no time left to play EVE.
Is EVE a game of clicking and interacting only with the AI for single-player planetary activities, or is EVE a cool, fun, *multi-player* game of space ships, combat, and excitement?
You decide with your feedback to CCP!

PI interaction is going to be changing. What all is changing, exactly how its changing, and when, is unknown at this time.
CSM Minutes.
Look about halfway down the minutes.

Yikes! 29 pages of detailed meeting notes. Heh, I don't pay for an Eve account to increase my workload. |

I wouldn't want to see an auto repeat function to extractors as all that would happen is everyone would place 1 or 2 extractors on a repeating 30 minute cycle. Nobody would ever use the 5hr, 24hr or 4 day function.
Not to mention I would assume if it was implemented, everyone would set the 30 minute timer and then come *****ing to the forums that they shouldn't have to move their extractor every day to a new resources spot cause the old one depleted to soon.

Without some ability to click on a planet installation and select "survey / begin extract" for all extractors, we will end up with only the farmers harvesting P1 commodities from planets, and the P1 commodity prices will stay absurdly high. Who else has the time to click hundreds of times every day to keep all their extractors working? |

The general design is too click-intensive; CSM suggested that CCP look for ways to move from ôclick-sinkô to ôthink-sinkô
CCP then stated that there would be a team dedicated to PI iteration, and that CCP would keep the players notified, bringing more transparency about this feature to the players. This seemed to please the CSM that the current PI is not the end product and that CCP seems willing to commit to follow through in PIÆs evolution.
+1 for this

I don't see any good effect this could have, you want PI more easy, then prices are going to drop even more, and they are already dropping every day, we are soon gonna get to less than 200M for the biggest towers...
Make it easier, people will kill the prices even more.
This sounds more like a 5h vs 23h battle... I don't see how people that are in 23h can claim this is a click fest. But then is it all about make it easier for thoses who does 5h, then what's the point of doing 23 ? if it's not already a way to get away from the click fest...
Yeah yeah it's not fun, but they aren't gonna magically make it fun, it's designed the way it is designed.

To OP, use 96 hour cycle -- problem solved.

I certainly don't need an auto-repeat. I also understand the need for a time sink. But my wrist feels like it is falling off. Allow me to group select and then give me a message for a minute (or whatever time is appropriate) and say "The extractors are currently locating resources" or whatever message seems appropriate. I would rather rest my wrist and stare at the screen for a minute. It would be nice if the cycle defaulted to the last cycle time chosen as well. If you are worried about macros, make us enter the fuzzy text that is displayed on screen (I forget what these are called). Or perhaps have the planet rotate to a random location that is close to your setup. I have seen some of these suggestions mentioned elsewhere. They seem preferable to me having to not play eve for 2 weeks while my wrist heals.

I really like the pro tip CSM game in MAY to have the left menu items draggable to avoid having to click twice. Yeah, because holding the mouse button down while you optimize a building's location is the way to go.

No it is NOTHING like farmville, you can't have friends help you out in Pi and you don't need to click a million times to get products. Pi is a horrible horrible game that deserves to DIE alone in space.
Death to Pi! If I could shoot Pi I would, double click submit BOOOOOM!
Pi = Pointless interaction.

I agree!
Million clicks will make this PI very boring, very soon. It is cool to have and work with planet structures, dont get me wrong i like the idea, but on a longer period clicks will cause brain damage
Would love to see "export from planet for corp" option

From what I have found from my limited time doing PI you are looking (per char) at about 15-20 minutes to sort out your 5 planets.
Personally I log in and get everything running before I got to work, then log in when i get home and before I go to bed, so far I have found that my processors have been running almost constantly in this time as the excess builds up to keep them running for the couple of hours between the extractors finishing and me next being able to log on.
The 'feature' I would like to see is the ability to switch between sets of structures on a planet as each planet I have has 2 seperate sites and the 'home' feature only takes you to the command centre (located next to one set on each planet) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fear accompanies the possibility of death. Seriously, stop posting your crap in every PI thread you can find. Message of the month for you: quit playing it if you so dislike it. Whatever you choose, keep your ramblings to yourself.
