Let's look at this from another perspective... If the other cronjobs run fine without errors then its not PHP5 related as they would be producing the same error's correct?
Well they are not, it is only 1 cronjob = poscron.sh
that is not working. So there must either a) be something wrong with poscron.sh or b) be something wrong with cron_updatepos.php
I have PHP 5 as detailed: PHP Info
So to re-iterate: All POS Tracker cron jobs (except poscron.sh / cron_updatepos.php) work

You can have different versions of php for cli and the webserver. Those types of errors are normally caused by something different on your system.
This is what I get, the version installed with apache is 5.3. You can try php -v or take a look to see if you can find your php install, sometimes /usr/bin/local/php as well.

This is what Dreamhost needs for your scripts(edit your .sh files to basically match what's below for PHP5):
PHP5 Cron Job Example: /usr/local/php5/bin/php /home/youruser/yourdomain.com/path-to-php5-script.php PHP4 Cron Job Example: /usr/local/bin/php /home/youruser/yourdomain.com/path-to-php4-script.php

Well neither of them work now, so I am going to use the ones I had set-up, and just have to manually update the pos every information everyday.
See below for changed .sh files errors:
poscron.sh:
/home/username/unpredictablecarnage.com/pos/poscron.sh: line 4: cd: /usr/local/php5/bin/php: Not a directory
Fatal error: Call to undefined function ADONewConnection() in /home/username/unpredictablecarnage.com/pos/includes/dbfunctions.php on line 71
postrackercron.sh:
/home/username/unpredictablecarnage.com/pos/postrackercron.sh: line 3: cd: /usr/local/php5/bin/php: Not a directory /home/username/unpredictablecarnage.com/pos/postrackercron.sh: line 5: cd: /usr/local/php5/bin/php: Not a directory /home/username/unpredictablecarnage.com/pos/postrackercron.sh: line 6: cd: /usr/local/php5/bin/php: Not a directory
At least before hand the postrackercron.sh worked lol now I am gonna have to remember what I used to make it work and wait a further 24 hours to make sure this is so damn LOL why can't these things be simple

Contact Dreamhost, ask them what its set at on your server for running a cron job in PHP5. Also, the POS updates can happen every hour and if you go earlier it will just pull cache data so you can still test your setup if you set it to every 5 minutes.

So instead of having the optimal always do Max possible, you wish to set it per POS to what ever amount of days it should always optimal to?

Hey FG,
OK a bit of progress;
X-Powered-By: PHP/5.2.15 Content-type: text/html
# $Id: poscron.sh 81 2010-08-12 02:49:35Z frozenice2525 $ #cd ~/home/username/unpredictablecarnage.com/pos/ cd /home/username/unpredictablecarnage.com/pos/ #/home/username/php5/bin/php mail.php cd /home/username/unpredictablecarnage.com/pos/cron_updatepos.php
The above is what I get from the mail Dreamhost sends me on execution of a cronjob, now it is using PHP5 but it is still not updating the POS information, I have it set to 1 hour per run. It is not giving me any errors as seen from above so what could be wrong

I'll keep playing with it like, but just so I know on the mail that is sent on a successful update what message is printed on the mail Is it something like:
POS xxxx / Location / Updated?
As with the alliance information etc if it was successful i just didn't get a mail at all, would it be difficult to add to the cron_xx.php files a call to send a successful message including what was updated
This is what I receive with successful updates:
poscron.sh: X-Powered-By: PHP/5.2.14 Content-type: text/html
postrackercron.sh X-Powered-By: PHP/5.2.14 Content-type: text/html
X-Powered-By: PHP/5.2.14 Content-type: text/html
---------------------------------
That right there is it. Nothing more, nothing less. You will noticed the alliance one will have two entries because two files were executed in the .sh. Shall we add helpful added/updated messages? Maybe in the future but a lot of data is pulled from various locations to accomplish that so it's not really worth it to try and have the tracker handle that(bigger fish to fry atm anyhoo). I can probably add something that provides more information but at the moment all it's doing is pulling the API and updating the DB. It isn't setup to announce anything else.

Hi All,
The development of the tracker has kinda hit a snag. I no longer have POS tower information to work off of or corporation jobs so it's hard to look at API data without that. Plans to have a new POS tower up kinda changed and I unfortunately don't have the ISK to run one myself, let alone even buy one. Wish donations could cover that but well barely any donations so :(. While this is a long shot I really don't wish to halt development if possible. If someone doesn't mind sharing some API corp data which will only be seen by me please PM me. If you want even I'll give you the link so you can see my destruction(I mean fixing) of the tracker in action. You can even use it for your corp if you like.
Please let me know in EVEMail!
Thank you, -FG

Hey,
I'm having a few problems installing this. Basically the installer executes the install_database.sql, but it seems to freeze there. Just shows the animated icon but isnt updating the mysql database. I'm assuming it's also meant to populate the created database tables with 100 or so .sql files in the same folder as the install_database.sql? I've tried raising the timeout options, and raised the php upload file limit (if thats even needed) but with no luck. I can create an account, and login - but I get a printed out mysql query at the top of the user cp basically looking for records that don't exist.
Any ideas? :)

The #1 reason for the failed install like this is you don't meet installer requirements: # PHP Version: 5.1.2+ # CURL Version: 7.21.0+ # Required Modules Needed: CURL, SimpleXML, Hash # Register_globals needs to be off. If you see "Register_globals: On or Register_globals: >blank<" you have register globals on.
or you don't have javascript enabled on your browser. The only thing installed by default is install_database.sql. The other 100 files are in later steps to select what region you are putting your POS in.

FG version uses session only so the second you close the browser, the session ends and so you are force to log back in. There is no setting to change this currently. There maybe an option for cookies in the future but currently there is not.

Would it be possible to have silos to tie into the tower if you know the that say... B8EN 1 - Moon 1 Silo = Container ID 509264911? API tells us that there is a silo in b8en and quantities of whats inside of it and even gives the container ID, so in theory one would just need to tie all of the silos to a particular tower

Technically yes but this request has come and gone for one small reason as Johnathan Roark pointed out: "Although that's true, the assets api is cached for 1 entire day, so if you go and mess with a starbase right after it happens to update, it will be wrong for the rest of the day."
This is a big issue because a lot of corps have multiple fuel techs and so if one person makes a change after the pull, bam the others won't know about it. Plus a lot of people do their pulls via cron jobs so to have it rely on that, anyone who makes a change 1 hour after-wards will have screwed over what's really going on in the silos.

Sorry for the slow releases of fixes but I'm still working on it.
Now I know Production fixes were on request a lot and since I had some time today, I got to dive into this.
The good news: 2 Production Bugs are fixed. Yay! This should help resolve the "silo linking" issue.
The bad news: 2 Production Bugs remain(that I know of) but I know what's causing the one of them so I'm hoping to have that solved shortly.
The request: I'm looking for 2-3 people who are on 5.1.1 Beta 1 willing to test out the new production fixes here shortly. Please just Evemail me and I'll have a link for you to try out within the next few days.

Since the old forums are back and I was in mid-reply when the new forums died the 3rd time here's a response to subdomains. I'll post again on the new forums if they do come back.
For 5.1.1 Beta 1 Users Only. Your subdomain fix:
http://www.iceneko.com/eve/subdomain_fix.zip
The one security patch I put in for 5.1.1 Beta 1 kinda broke subdomain installs if the POS install wasn't put into a folder under the subdomain. This patch will be included in the next version of FGV.

Hi,
I'm running into a strage problem. Installed 5-1-1-Beta-1 and configured it ...no problem here. Then I get to the login page and try the admin user with the pw ---> not able to log in.
I don't get an error message or anything, the page just reloads and that's it.
DB connection is working ok since i can add users and they do show up in the DB.
I also have the same version running on the same server (another vhost and DB) and this one runs perfect.
any ideas?

I seem to be having a problem. I'm not sure if its a browser issue or a bug. Using firefox, I can't seem to go to page 2+ of the towers list. I have to set it to 100 towers to see all our corp towers.

Fixy Here: http://www.iceneko.com/eve/trackbug_fix.zip (For 5.1.1 Beta 1 or 5.1.1 Beta 2 Users Only)
It looks like when removing what looked to be a pointless function, it had a small feature of counting that I didn't fully become aware of until now. According to SVN I made the change when going to 5.1.1 Beta 1 from 5.0.4. So those 5.0.4 installs should be fine.

Edited by: Bloodhands on 30/04/2011 01:32:34 Thank you for the quick fix on that. Did something change for directors/admins? All those who had 'Director' or 'Admin' seem to of lost the ability to do API updates in beta 2, approve/delete users or modify accounts of anyone else.
I am also getting this when i try to change theme.
Quote: Unknown column 'theme_id' in 'field list'UPDATE pos_user SET theme_id = '4' WHERE id = '4'

edit: hmm, seems if you give someone who was a director or admin roles on the new Registered Users page, they loose director or admin. There doesn't seem to be a way to give them admin back so they can approve members and/or run the POS update from API that I can see either.
1. NP
2. You're getting the theme message because you missed a DB update. ****If upgrading from v5.0.1 to v5.0.2 select: "v5.0.2 - Theme Install" from the list and select Next.**** Now just a bit of notice that if you're missing the theme update there's a good chance you are missing some others. :(
3. In 5.1.1 Beta 1 the roles all changed. You are no longer able to give the admin role to anyone. This is changing in the future but for now the only way to give someone else admin is to edit their permissions within the DB to just the number "5". This is mainly to support alliances who wish to use the POS tracker. You wouldn't want the director of a corp able to see the crap in another corp without specific permissions to do so. There will be most likely the ability to give people "subadmin" rights in the near future. Probably when going to 5.1.2 which I'm working on right now. API should really be run from cronjobs if possible. We used to do API updates all the time from the admin page but once you setup cronjobs, you never really have to because the data is already updated.
