After the being in cryostasis for the last two years, I have woken up and was pretty impressed by the new Scorpion. Now, it's a very beautiful ship - and, in the first place, i doesn't mean her textures, but the forms - it's symmetric now. I'd say it was always strange for me, this asymmetrical style of the ships in EVE. So i thought - "why not to do the same with the other ships? With the Thorax-class, for example". Thorax-class is a beautiful ship too, but only if you look at it from the nose, its tail ruin it all(at least it's how it look from my POV).
And i'd wish to ask the Community and CCP - why not to redesign the Thorax-class just like that?
P.S. Sorry for my ugly English, i hope you'll understand what i'm talking about. "From Russia, with love." (c)

Naw if you ask me I think the thorax is fine, the ship truely in need of remodeling is the Moa. It is just offensive to look at, big block for a body, those weird leg like engines, than that massive engine pod hanging of the side, as well as that weird one off the bottom..
The only idea that should stay is the neck

Leave the Thorax, the Dominix needs major love, and FOR THE LOVE OF GOD REDESIGN THE HELIOS/IMICUS.

This. The Helios is easily the worst looking ship in the game. Not that I've ever expressed that opinion before....

Stop trying to make everything look symmetrical!
EVE is not about Symmetrical ships. Yes the Scorpion model looks cool but in my opinion its not in the 'EVE' style. In that way I preferred the old Scorpion.
And yes I'm sure I'll get flamed for this.
Long live weird assed looking asymmetrical EVE ships!

There's asymmetry, and there's "let's make everything look like an explosion in a spare parts warehouse for no real reason" The Moa definately fits into the latter category. _________________________________

Looking asymmetrical is one thing. Looking completely terrible is another. Just about any design would look than that pos. Symmetrical or not.
Eve isn't about asymmetrical ships either. There are plenty of symmetrical ships in Eve and for the most part they look better.

Of course, many EVE-ships needs to be redesigned, Thorax - it's just an example from my POV. It would be very interesting to hear some thing from CCP about their plans on the subject.

I disagree with you, the thorax looks good, the moa looks fairly good aswell at least when you look at this ship.

The imicus ship design is such a abomination to look at, true the moa looks bad, but this looks terrible.

^^ This. Tbh the new Scorp looks more Gallente than it does Caldari. It doesn't have the proper blocky lego look.
And Thorax looks fine. It's the flying phallus of doom. Blasters could use a little love though.

Leave the Moa model alone! That and the new scorpion model are the 2 i like most I agree on the imicus/helios model though... |

The moa model has a certain charm.
Then again, the old Scorpion model did, and the new model is leaps and bounds better. So I'll take my chances on CCP redesigning it.
The Inimicus hull is just plain ugly though.

DON'T TOUCH MY BEAUTIFUL MOA!
They already made my lovely asymmetrical scorpion a slick symmetrical ship. If you want symmetrical ships, most of them already fit the bill. Why do you want to take away from the few ships that are styled otherwise? It's a nice caldari ship - completely NO interest in style, with a focused interest on functionality.

If each half of a Thorax was used to make two new symmetrical Thorax models...
At least one of them would bear a powerful resemblance to a wang with two testes. One nad is enough.

Who said it had to be symmetrical? I just can't stand that it looks like block with 2 legs and a giant engine pod... looks like they let the Minmatar build it from whatever they had laying around

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. IMO - the Moa is the best looking ship in the game. (I wish it was a better ship performance wise, but that's another story). I'm not asking for all the other ships in the game to look like the moa, I like the diversity. And yes, I was serious about my opinion of the Moa :P
I'm not saying that the moa can't be made better - but if it gets the scorpion treatment, it'll homogenize the look of the ships in game, which I don't think is a good thing.

Never mind the Rax or Moa, swap the Slasher model with the Mini shuttle so it's used for the Mini inties, that's one of the best models in game and needs to be armed.

Moa, the lovechild of a swan and a toaster.
Imicus, the little turd, and the Helios which got its model swapped
Domi, the battle-turd/whale/fist of God.
Thorax is fine but I like the OP's pics. Haunting the forums since '03

secretly i LOVE these models, but i know CCP can do much much better one look at the new scorpion will show you that.
i know how everyone says "no new content, fix stuff" i'll be on board if it's "no new content, fix stuff and upgrade 60% of the models" (besides, what are all those art guys gonna do while the tech boys fix the game?)

stay away from the phoon it is one of the coolest looking ships. i agree there are ships that need a redesign but there is no need to change the typhoon. especially considering it might end up like scorp and not look like a minnie ship anymore. the new scorp models looks great but not like a caldari ship

I agree that quite a few of the ships need to be redesigned, but the thorax is one of the worst. Not one of the ugliest, but cmon, look at it from the top... I just can't fly around in a dildo.
The scorp looks awesome now so I'd like to see what the art guys can do with some of the other ship models.
