Hey Guys,
Decided to spend a bit of my bonus on buying PLEX from the EVE Online store (2 of them)... I've never done this before, and I don't know how I can claim them.
It told me there would be a processing delay, but will it inform me when its been confirmed... also once they have been confirmed will they just appear in my cargo bay/hangar ?
I imagine once I have them I can sell/them or use them at my leisure also, or are there any restrictions on selling cash bought PLEX...
Thanks

This might not be 100% correct, because I dont know if theres been anything changed recently...
Firstly, to my knowledge, you can't buy PLEX direct from CCP. You instead buy ETC (Eve time cards) which can be converted into 2 plex (plexes?) for use in game.
Now if you get a game time code from CCP, you get a physical card, which has to be sent through the post. You then scratch off the panel at the back of the card, and find a code inside.
In game, under the escape menu, at the very bottom is something that will say something like 'convert ETC' - you put the code in from the card, and you will get 2 PLEX items in your hangar in whichever station you are in.
The plexes cannot be moved from the station they are created in (therefore I dont think you can convert an ETC in space, but cant say for certain) but can be used from the asset list anywhere in space.
If selling it is your main priority, you should probably wait to activate the conversion when youre at the station you want to sell at (or at least somewhere in the region so it shows up on the regional market information panel) otherwise you can list it on contracts which can be seen anywhere (though you need to be in the specific region to buy it) and used anywhere.
Note that just for the record, theres several companies will also sell 'email only' ETC's without the need to send out the physical card (they buy the cards from CCP at a discount and resell them) which may be faster (and I believe cheaper as well as you dont have to pay postage costs - not sure if CCP still charge postage for ETC) than getting them direct from CCP. Some companies such as Shattered Crystal and Battleclinic Deep Space Supply come to mind, but theres a few on the CCP resellers list... I just cant remember from the top of my head where you find the list.

Thanks for the quick response... I don't think I've bought a time card as they come as 60 days... I logged onto my Account Management through this site and selected 'buy plex', I bought 2 x 30 day cards...
I hope I don't have to wait for a mail order :(

Also when I bought it I only had to provide a billing address, not a posting address... It says I've bought it in my account management, I just don't know what the usual amount of time it is for confirmation, and how I go about collecting it afterwards

Edited by: Karox Lominax on 14/06/2010 15:53:07 Hmm.. never realised they sold PLEX directly now.
From the account management page:
For your protection, there is a one-hour delay in processing PLEX orders. We apologize for any inconvenience this short delay may cause. After the one hour you will have to re-log into EVE to be able to redeem your PLEX items.
If its been more than an hour since you bought it, log out and back in again, see if that helps.
They should most likely appear in your hangar of whatever station you were in, unless you got the option to specify a station.

I can't imagine anybody willingly buying game-time cards from CCP direct, because of the huge shipping fee.
Most people just buy game-time codes from authorized resellers, like Shattered Crystal and Battleclinic.

If you bought plexes you just redeem them through the redeem button at the character selection screen, you have to be in a npc station to do this.
If you bought the actual cards you have to wait till they come through the mail.

Simply press the 'redeem items' button when you log in. From what I can remember, you will have an option as to which NPC station the Plex will be deposited in. Select the station and the shiny new plex card will appear in you items locker. Enjoy the extra spending money!
