Edited by: Vilgan Mazran on 06/06/2010 23:20:41 Just started playing with the higher tier stuff today, as I'd mostly played with extractors and basic industry before.
I'm having a lot of trouble getting stuff to route from a launch pad. Initially I tried the following:
1 launch pad 2 advanced w/ Synthetic Synapses schematic (linked directly to launchpad) 1 high tech w/ Recursive computing schematic (linked directly to launchpad)
I had stacks of: transcranial microcontrollers, guidance systems, supertensile plastics, and test cultures in the launchpad. First I routed the microcontrollers and guidance systems to the high tech. The High tech showed 100% for those 2 resources. Then I routed supertensile/test cultures to the first advanced (routing result to the high tech). That seemed to be good. However, whenever I tried to route stuff to the 2nd advanced it would increment the link load like there was a route but not actually do anything. The advanced sat there saying 'waiting for resources' even though the launchpad with the resources required was adjacent and the resources were supposedly routed. I tried adjusting the timing on when I hit submit, but could never get that 3rd factory to work.
So I tore everything down and started again. This time just trying to route to 2 advanced. That worked fine, so apparently routing off the same initial resource wasn't a problem. However, now when I tried to make routes to a 3rd factory (a high-tech) I again encountered the issue that the routed materials wouldn't actually go to the factory. It sat there "waiting for resources".
Since then, its actually degraded. As I've torn down buildings and rebuilt them (and command centers and rebuilt from scratch) now I can only route to 1 factory. Either high-tech or advanced. I can't route to another factory. Like right now I have 1 high-tech which is working correctly and another advanced (2 total factories) which just keeps incrementing load on the link but doesn't ever actually send resources down the route.
Just wondering if there is something I am missing? Is anyone else experiencing this issue? I'll probably try to figure out the bug report process later, but it seemed strange that people would be discussing things like pixel size if this bug is affecting everyone.

Yes had the same problem. I bug reported it. The issue is there is a very large delay from when you submit to when the reaction kicks in, I think I had one that took over an hour to begin.

Edited by: Bushgallam on 07/06/2010 11:12:01 same here, I experience it with extractors->launchpad(as buffer)->P1 basic factory setup.
I believe that the order in which you define the in-route, define the out-route and submit the changes has an effect; defining the in-route before the out-route seems to work better.
Also, you can apparently kick-start the route by doing a manual expedited transfer (forgot the official name) once the route is set up.

I set up a manufacturing layout yesterday and noticed the same thing, but also0 noticed that the ones you dont route before you submit will go eventually, based on the expedited tranfer timer. Every 8 minutes one of the other routes will kick in.

Tested this issue after the latest sisi patch and its still there. Please fix as it is working perfectly on TQ at the moment, would be a bummer to break something that is working fine.

i'm working backwards: 0. put down the factory or whatever you call it 1. set the link 2. pick the schematics - directly brings us to 3. route the resulting product
only then 4. route the required ingredients "in", the rings will brighten up immediately 5. after all is routed "in" click submit.
and it'll start right off the bat with the next cycle in the buffer, too. -

Are you getting a whole bunch of factories to work with this? Getting 1 (which is all you described) to start right away isn't a problem. Getting multiple to feed (in a prompt manner instead of activating slowly) is a problem on sisi.

I would like to comment on my previous post. Apparently, I petitioned it. I was informed I instead need to bug report it. Which I haven't done.
Also, it seems people have been noticing this with extracting too.

I set up a 6 x advanced to a 3 x advanced to a single hitech. Huge delay and only partial fills. All is routed throug a port. In about 30 mins the first 6 advanced started. The second 3 were routed when the first six delivered product to the port. It has been almost an hour and the second 3 set is only half full of one item each. Too late to sit and watch it all for time now. I'll deal with it tomorrow but it is definitely not working right.

looks like they fixed this, updated OP. Didn't have time to check thoroughly tho as the server was coming down.
