Edited by: ChinaWillGrowLarger on 02/06/2010 12:44:01 Not content with just ruining PI before it began, introducing chaos into the markets associated with POS mods and capital construction, CCP has raised the bar once more.
Enjoy your 'Broken' integrity response drones.
Quote: Rofl, if ccp does do the broken P4 change tomorrow. It just about the worst possible way they can handle it at this point, which would fit right in to this whole situation.
I have to say i agree.
Punishing players for your mistakes when there are other far more effective less abrasive measures of undoing the damage is not good business practice.
The refined PI materials are now useless, this change smacks more of being vindictive than an attempt to rectify the problem. My Mitnal lies over the ocean My Mitnal lies over the sea My Mitnal lies over the ocean Oh bring back my Mitnal to me |

You know that when they introduce a bug, players are supposed to bug report it? According to the rules if a player takes advantage of a bug it is called an exploit and the player is bannable.
This was a bug as P4s were not supposed to exist ingame till at least the 8th. CCP could have banned all those that reprocessed stuff into P4s, sold P4s on the market, bought P4s, or used P4s in manufacturing.
Instead they declared that it was a bug that would not be considered an exploit, therefore there would be no banning, but people should stop doing things related to it. They also warned that those that did not get out of the loop would be "punished" (without specifying how, except that it would be less severe than a ban).
If the "solution" CCP came out with is bad, it is bad for reasons that have nothing to do with punishing players that, theoretically, should have been banned. It is bad because it is not guaranteed to be actually complete enough to solve the initial problem the bug created.
- Firstly, planet VI in FD-MLJ will be nuked from orbit (after all, it is the only way to be sure) and all existing infrastructure will be gone. -- CCP Nimbus |

Wait, what happened that you're upset about?
They disabled sell orders, then re-enabled them, what's the actual problem?

Looks like they refine into 10,000 Tritanium Better get building them POS's quick
So I guess people bought POS modules, then reprocessed them into funky bits, but now CCP has turned those funky bits into junk and that junk can be reprocessed into Tritanium.

This happened to me on Sisi 4-5 days ago. I don't know if it was because the server was patched, or me deleting a link I was routing across, but I ended up with routes for "broken sterile conduits". I saw it before any was produced, deleted and recreated the routes, and they came back as "sterile conduits". I think "broken" refers to a broken route/link, not a new product.

Just wondering how the hell are player suposed to know that theyre not suposed to have p4 materials yet? After all all dev blogs sayd was that commad centers would be seeded at 8th. They sed nothing about not having any materials before that.
So basicly ccp mess up and now blames players for taking advantage. How about ccp, stop making mistakes all the time like that. Think things throw and think again. You have that professor what his name in there so you can ask him how will players take advantage of this.
How are we suposed to know that pos structure is not suposed to reprocess yet into those components? After all they did release all those blueprints and reprocdessing was in line with those informations.
If were suposed to hunt bugs, arent we suposed then to be given nesessary information to identify bug, as in how game is suposed to work now?

P4 materials come from PI. PI requires command centers. Command centers released on the 8th.
Common sense, train it!

Lol, so maybe ccp should have not enable structures to reprocess to those components in first place then? But they did, so your logic fails.
Its same thing as mineral market, most comes from mining, some comes from mission runners reprocessing loot. So following your logic: ccp should remove all loot drops next since minerals are suposed to come from mining.
Even inventing has this dual thing, main part of t2 bpc comes from inventions, but you can find them in sites if your really lucky too.
So i see what your trying to say, but since ccp has repeatedly demonstarted that there is usually atleast two roads to certaing things in this game. its clear this pos structure p4 material thing was not mistake, it was intended. what were mistakes are two things: a) not balansing npc order properly and b) not releasing command centers as intended.
So clearly ccp mess things up. Some one didint read their internal release plan and think: damn i better no enable this, before they seed command centers. In fact i better voice up this to hole team, delaying CC seed is going to have massive effect on rest of this....
ccp labeled this bug after they realised players were allready makeing profit on p4 stuff. But error were ccp made. If they dont want you to take advantage on something them maybe they should stop makeing releases that allows you to take that advantage? I would happily skip next 6 month "expansion" in favor of stability release, get tons of bugs fixed instead of adding more half-baked content.
So lets atleast blame organisation that made mistakes, not the one that has not a line oc influence in game code.

You (and others) found a bug and took advantage of it. You milked and exploited the loophole, knowing that it was a bug. This, in itself, is against the ToS and grounds to be banned. CCP even acknowledged that it was a bug. Anyone who got bitten while trying to exploit the bug deserves what they got. To those who slipped through the net by putting their items into production before the patch: you were lucky this time.

Please explain to us what exactly you've lost?
You gambled ISK and time on a venture that isn't even on the server yet. Seems like you are the guy who knows exactly how much P4 items should be worth when PI goes live, eh?
If anything you should get the ****ing douche reward for not turning what you thought you had into something tangible, like an outpost egg, instead... evolution caught up with you, and suprise, you lost.

I am sorry, but i dont remember anywhere saying that this is a bug. I do not regularly read the forums - and i dont remember anywhere saying that i have to. I have found the materials to build on the market and i have bought them. How exactly did that mean that i took advantage of a bug ? What exactly was the advantage ?
Besides, there was no announcement from CCP ( and THEY HAVE NEWS SERVICES IN THE LOGIN PAGE WHERE THEY POST ANNOUNCEMENTS ). Anywhere you look at this from, its CCP fault. And refusing to see that only shows a CCP alt.
I will not read this thread anymore and ill be waiting for the CCP answer on my petition. I will not reply to any other post - so, CCP alts or **tt-kissing players... thread is all yours

Edited by: Erye Vanwerin on 02/06/2010 20:34:57 Edited by: Erye Vanwerin on 02/06/2010 20:32:04 What really irritates me is that none of this was announced. You can't demonize someone for taking advantage of a "bug" when it's not commonly known to be a bug, and is used by a mass player base.
Also, this isn't a situation of a "lost gamble" in any way. There is gambling involved when industrialists take risks to invest in new items introduced into the game by none other than CCP themselves. There is no gambling involved when CCP decides to, without any announcement or devblog, etc...., effectively nullify any capital invested in their new patch.
This all would have been fine if CCP hadn't released both a method of acquiring the mats AND the BPO's with which to make them into things @ the same time. Then there wouldn't be people sitting w/ large investments of nothing in their hangars @ the moment, other than those who perhaps wished to stock up. |

So...you're complaining because CCP broke something unintentionally, fixed it (not in the best way, but probably the only way), then corrected the original problem? Really? What did you think WOULD happen? I personally didn't take advantage of the "error" because I had the common sense that CCP would fix it and bite you in the ass later on.
As for those who already built stuff, they got lucky, as did the people who got T2 BPOs before the lottery was removed. The items that were built will simply be used; there couldn't have been THAT much built in the couple days, and even if so...natural market forces will change things anyway. I forgot to mention that you are in fact reading something that is called a signature. |
