Why does it now take over 200 nanite paste to repair my 10mn MWD?

Confirming half-burnt Warp Disruptor II uses 64. And 100 isn't enough to even begin to repair a half-burnt 1MN MWD.
Yay for spensive burnin :( Can I has a cookie? |

Just did a little math in my head (Yay fourth grade!). This is on the basis of 15k Paste (about nullsec prices in my region).
Repairing that Warp Disruptor cost 960k ISK. <- Mod Cost = 1m
Repairing a half-burnt MWD (200 paste) costs 3m ISK. <- Mod Cost = 150k Can I has a cookie? |

A) Being able to repair a burnt out mod in the middle of marketless stationless nullsec is worth the cost if it keeps you from losing the ship at a camp or missing a potential kill due to no functional prop mod.
B) Nanite paste is about to plummet to insanely low prices after the pi production lines start churning them out in about a week or so.

Luckily they have lowered the seed price, from 11.5k to around 6.4k
Still will be a lot more expensive to use though

June 8th is when the command centers get seeded. That's almost 2 weeks away.
So I guess in the mean time we just get shafted.

Err sorry meant mostly burnt out mod. Getting the overheat time back is what I was trying to say.

Current nanite paste producers are going to take a huge loss when the limitless supplies from pi start rolling in. This makes sure that a larger part of the current stocks get used up and help to ease the changeover. But someone has to get the shaft in this deal so ccp put it on the end users as they greatly outnumber the producers and take a smaller hit to the wallet.

There are no "nanite paste produces" - nanite paste has always been a market seeded good that players then buy in bulk and move to trade hubs to sell at a small % markup.

Producers suppliers whatevah. Still doesn't change the fact that all that nanite paste on the market needs to go quickly so noone takes a huge loss due to ccp changing the mechanics when the actual planet production goes online.

Prices will spike once the NPC orders are stopped, not plummet. Who knows where the final price of nanite paste (or any other good) will wind up, but in the short run there is no danger of having a giant stack of nanite paste worth a fraction of its original value.

More than that. Used to take me 5, maybe 10 paste to repair a burnt disruptor depending on how bad it was. Now it takes 65ish if its half. So if thats the standard increase across the board, it looks like its 6-12x.
Edit: I fail at English. Can I has a cookie? |

Also strange is that it is selling at 3 stations (the only ones I've seen) for 2145 immediately after the patch. Every other NPC order had it 5800 or so. The three stations continue to sell at 2145 and the price elsewhere is dropping fast on NPC orders. Odd behavior I haven't seen from NPC products before. The three stations I've seen are in Jita 4-4, Madirmillire, and Odebeinn. |

Edited by: Schmell on 28/05/2010 08:50:40 why the hell do you think nanite paste gonna get cheaper than now? They are more likely go up, because making it throuh PI means ppl will want really good income for this production circlejerk PI is now. Practically its a self slavery with hard work and no income with current npc prices

I don't know what will happen in the future, but I do know that the NPC sell price for nanite repair paste in Jita 4-4 is 2145 and the Odebeinn NPC order has dropped from 2145 yesterday to 2105 today. If you think the price is going to go up, then you should buy as much as you can at this price. |
