Originally by: Mouse Nell So, CCP encourages players to pretend they're in contact with CCP to fake events? CCP encourages players to crash nodes and cause system wide connection problems?
Ok, let's try this again, because apparently your comprehension sucks.
There is precedent that CCP encourages players to create player-run events. Want some examples? Look up the ISRC Racing League (Previously ISGC). That's gotten a pretty solid amount of play in the ingame news when it started.
There is also the precedent that CCP encourages players to cause clusterfu-----erm.. messes. I'm assuming that you've heard of the Guiding Hand Social Club? You don't mean to tell me that CCP actively discourages their previous behavior, do you? Because if you do you're going to need to site that, because let's be honest -- they seem pretty clear that they support that kind of cut throat behavior.
Secondly, and I'm just throwing this out here for you, we never said Sansha or any CCP people would be there. That you can give credit to yourselves over. We didn't say they wouldn't be there, but we certainly didn't start that rumor. We only suggested there would be an attack at Maut, and further that it had something to do with a TCU (when it came to the wire at the end).
The rest of the conspiracy-oriented nonsense was all you guys. You made it easy for us. We played into your suspicions and didn't honestly say much of anything. We let you build the lie for us.
Quote: What the heck kind of storytelling school is that?
The kind that wasn't done by CCP? This is what CCP encourages. The players to tell their own stories -- however they may choose to. So we did. If CCP wants to come down and tell us we went and did something wrong that's one thing, but so far the only people complaining are the people who decided to take this whole thing way too personally.
Quote: I don't mind so much that you sansha supporter types decided to trick someone into providing bad intel.
That's funny, because this statement and the rest of your post are diametrically opposed.
Quote: As much as i try to avoid RP, it was good tactical strategy, and for that I applaud you.
Thanks.
Quote: But that when it was passed along, it was done so in open channels? And then mouthpieced repeatedly?
Once again, that wasn't us. We funneled it to the spy. You all took it from there.
Something everyone seems to be neglecting -- you did most of the work for us. We actually were quite secretive about it. We kept it to ourselves and funneled it into a few known spies, they slipped it to a few people, and then it blew up out of control.
You want to blame people for the huge eruption of it? Blame the empire-aligned side. You all did the footwork.
Quote: Course, if i'd known there were sansha supporters with an intel channel, i'd probably have gone with that from the word Go.
:) A much tighter wrapped one, too!
Quote: I really wonder if someone filled out the Massive fleet notification form.
Didn't even know there was one. We only expected half the size of the fleet that was there. It was fine at the point it was only 350 people. It's when PL/NC jumped in and doubled the number of people there that everything went to crap.
But I digress:
We've been getting crapped on all over by people OOC and there's been a lot of IC/OOC blurring going on with a lot of the insults being thrown. It's getting pretty ridiculous.
Some people need to take a step back and breathe for a minute.
