Raze Valadeus, you will find that when you search for the motives of your enemy, it's not always as bad as it might seem at first.
If you are to truly oppose an enemy, you must know what keeps them going, find the goal (or goals) and consider them for yourself.
I've had several occasions myself, where I have been convinced of one way that was supposedly "the correct way", but after intensive studies I found that "my" approach was not the best (and, in a few cases, horribly wrong).
No one will ever move on if everything the human race does is floating around like a school of fish; It doesn't require anything of you to follow the road you've always been on. It requires substantial personal investment to consider whether or not that road is right. |

Sage advice, Pilot GIGAR.
I've invested significant time and energy into interviewing, questioning and challenging those I oppose. There are at least a few who could attest to that. It is always my desire to understand the motivations and reasonings of those I don't understand or don't agree with. Sometimes I am enlightened in ways I did not expect and other times I find myself wishing I wasn't right before I started.

Here's what I see.
I see intel videos of secure systems being made less so by Sansha attacks.
I had no particular bone to pick with the Sanshas until they came looking for a fight. Now there's a fight waiting for you.
Back off my chosen grounds, and I won't shoot you. Enter my chosen grounds with aggressive intent, and I'll shove missiles down your throat. This is not particularly anti-Sanshas. Everyone gets the same deal.

calling me a predator gave me the best laugh i've had in years.
I'm a predator of asteroids and manufacturing slots.
if a slaver hound attacks a Roe as it feeds on berries, and the roe beats the crap out of the hound, is the Roe a predator?

We learn in the teachings of Vulkor-Khaine that the roles of Predator and Prey can change at the whim of fate (for lack of a better term). In example, I once saw a Bloodhawk take a young Desertking scorpion as prey...the scorpion stung the bloodhawk, which died from the venom granting the Desertking a meal...hence my refering to you as "predator".

Edited by: Jaik7 on 08/12/2010 21:18:23 While i've got what seems to be a realativly sane Sanshas supporter on the line, i'd like to ask a few questions.
is there a profit motive amoung Sanshas Citizens or purely national zeal?
Does Sansha acknowledge the right to choose against joining his Nation?
are you personally certain that this is the same Sansha that led the original Nation?
Why does Sansha choose to attack now when he is obviously so well off in his new home that he can field such a fleet?
What do the Jovians think of your ownership over a station that seems to have been theirs?
Is there a Backup Plan in case this whole thing goes wrong?
What is your policy to those who consider themselves noncombatents?
so far, i'm pretty sure that the only ones attracted to your new crusade are the capsuleers who are in pursuit of blood and glory. you'll find that you can catch a lot more of us if you show us the Isk, or do you not have any in your enlightened existance?
i was raised to never follow something based purely on ideals, and as of yet, not only have your ideals been lacking in my veiw, your financial motivators have been as well.
by the way, if you continue to invade High Security without converting those who are more intrested in Isk than ideal, you'll find you're the bird to a lot of scorpions besides myself.

Syn, i'm sorry for mistaking your allegiance. in my book, predators are usually bad things that steal livestock, thus my quick and negative response.
at the price of seeming disloyal, i would like to know what, besides the "utopia" i've been promised and denied before, the Nation has to offer someone who does not get high from yelling 'Yarr!' and attacking defensless convoys.

Once again, I am in Nation's debt. You have been very kind to me and I appreciate it. Many thanks. I hope to see you again soon Kuvakei. You would be proud of what your gift has allowed me to accomplish. I have a gift for you too, however it seems to be no longer very rare and I'm sure you already have many for your collection.
It is a shame that the masses cannot see this wonderful side of your personality, of the personality of Nation. Although it seems every day more and more bear witness. I'll do what I can to keep these numbers rising.

As far as; "someone who does not get high from yelling 'Yarr!' and attacking defensless convoys", I wouldn't know that either since the 21st is a anti-pirate organization as well as anti-Nation.

Well I figure it is time to clearly explain my position as many people have felt that my actions have betrayed them in some fashion. I apologize if there were any misconceptions as to my loyalties, but for some time now I have been loyal to Sansha's nation.
For a time I tried to fight them, and I realized that the nation will not be defeated, in fact it was hubris to think that a disorganized bunch of capsuleers could accomplish what the combined strength sf the empires could not.
After I realized my folly I attempted to ease the pain of this conflict to all involved, It was an ill fated attempt to try and give capsuleers more time to understand the reality and accept that their futures are with the nation. Indeed Concord did intervene to stop my assistance of nation vessels, showing their lack of understanding.
After this I actively started doing everything could to help the Nation, in the best interests of everyone. As more struggle just leads to more needless sacrifice. I was hoping more capsuleers would understand the futility of their actions by now but instead they let their pride blind them into ignorance and accuse me of betrayal, when all I am doing is trying to help them.
To FCORD and others that accuse, I haven't betrayed you. My loyalties have always been to the best interests of New Eden, therefore my loyalty has been to Master Kuvakei all along. If you didn't understand that I am sorry, but here it is in public for all to see.
Master Kuvakei my power may be limited but you may use it s you see fit.

Edited by: Marenteius on 14/12/2010 11:56:42 I am new to these issues, new to being a capsuleer, and not really in much of a position to stop Nation from doing anything, not with the assets i have now... even so, ill say it loudly.
Sansha's Nation lost all right to pity or mercy when they made the choice to FORCIBLY ABDUCT people from their homes, citizens of corrupt empires or not. Had his forces only excepted volunteers, i may have supported him, but his actions leave only one real choice to those with a concious.
Kuvakei, in whatever small way i can, i stand against your agressive acts. Stand down your fleets, focus on defending your own home, and maybe you can still achieve the greatness you aspire to. Otherwise, i fear that you and all those under you (willing or otherwise) will awaken the sleeping giants of New Eden, and fill them with a brace of terrible resolves.

I think he misundestood you on purpose, comparing Sansha's personnel to defenseless convoys.
Kuvakei, you really need to work on your system of incentives. if you want to convert capsuleers, promise them Isk and freedom from restrictive rules explicitly, instead of making vauge declarations of a new world order rising. We all know that you cannot oust the primary factions from power, the best you can do is abduct their citizens and terrorize the rest.
In order to make your campaign successful, you need us. Tell us why we need you, and more of us will be willing to make a deal. The universe of the Capsuleer is all about incentives and opportunity costs.
Your refusal to respond is beginning to irk me, I am sure that your inbox is not so busy as to miss my mail for more than two weeks. Let it laspe for a third and I will join the hunt for you out of spite!
