"The waste factor for all Tech III blueprint copies has been changed to 0."
Better sell your T3 hulls fast i gues.

Edited by: Iron Mayden on 14/05/2010 23:33:56 Ah my bad, i misinterpreted that.
There was a patch that moved the Me from -4 to 0 a while ago, but indeed you are correct
Me 0 with perfect skills still entails 10% wastage factor...
Now changing it to 0 waste will be nice, and makes sense, since you cannot get any better on t3 bpcs...
And of course it will lower the costs.
But I swear some people already sell their hulls as if they had "zero waste", hehe...
It always boggles my mind to see people who sell their hulls where they clearly did not count the cost of the reverse engineering, and instead of profit, they pay to sell it...
Oh and my favorite ones... they guys who count their materials as free because they gathered it themselves in the WHs

You are apparently bad at t3 manufacture. Even selling hulls at buy order prices (which would be kind of dumb) there is still a profitable margin. Its not very good, but it works if you don't want to expend any time updating orders ever I guess. The margin isn't nearly what it used to be as all the lemmings have swarmed to t3 manufacture, but its definitely there.
As to the subject of the thread, it'll drop hull production price by about 11 mil. So less than 10%, but not an irrelevant change. Should help balance out increased demand due to better insurance rate.

Could even just be a cosmetic change (increasing the base costs) just because it does not make much sense to have this waste factor when all Blueprints are ME 0 anyway.

this will have 0 effect on the price of hulls. The price of them is nearly completely made up by
neurovisual output analyzer: 1 neurovisual interface whatever: 1 fullerene intercalated sheets: 9
the rest isnt worth mentioning
reducing waste from 10% to 0% wont change any of these amounts, so prices will stay the same

The forums are where all the grumpy pedants hang out.
As for saleability of T3, not only is the cost to manufacture coming down slightly, but the value you can insure them for is going up. I expect many more T3 hulls being flown in combat compared to the absolute number flown in combat at present. The extra demand due to insurance making them more affordable should push the prices up a little.
